When I first found Four Winds, I thought it was going to be a great place. I'm pregnant and its close to the hospital. Not to mention the price was amazing for such a large place. The management was nice, and that was about it. We received our keys, signed our lease and returned later that night to move in.
The moment I started the move-in list of 'whats wrong'.. I quit writing. There were so many problems in the kitchen alone! The outlet was missing a faceplate and one of the two plugs were missing, they were just wires hanging there. The cabinets and ceiling had fire damage above the stove, yet they didn't bother to try to replace the cabinetry. The counters were molded, chipped, and cracked. The drawers were completely filthy. There were roaches on the ceiling in the corners. Not palmetto bugs.. roaches. In florida you are used to spiders and palmetto bugs so I wish that had been the problem. Under the kitchen sink in the cabinet was fine. Then I tested the kitchen sink. My husband later opened the cabinet to check there when he was going through everything and found that running the sink for not even a minute, caused a huge puddle underneath. The dishwasher hit my stomach. As I said I'm pregnant.. so this scared me and I was completely upset about it. The dishwasher was not bolted under the counter, it basically fell out when you touched the handle causing it to fall on you.
The light switches were missing faceplates.. they were left on the floor near the switches. How lazy is that''' The ceiling in the living room, underneath where the bathroom upstairs is had a huge water stain and you can tell the ceiling was replaced there many times. This makes me paranoid about even stepping into that tub, wondering if its going to fall through the floor. The carpets had been 'cleaned' yet all I smelled was mildew and wet dog. The walls were cracked everywhere, they could of atleast filled those in.
The half bathroom downstairs was fine until I looked under that sink. The entire cabinet was falling apart. The whole base of it was falling through covered in mold and mildew!
Upstairs the bathroom had mold and such left around the tub on the floor. Meaning they have serious problems with leaks. The closet in one of the bedrooms had a huge square cut out... that was left behind sitting in the same spot. The square was covered in a bluish purple stain. Why cut the carpet and not replace it' There were many more problems so we immediately went to the office the next morning and got our rent check back. We had paid a full year in advance, so atleast the management was understanding and let us leave. They even allowed us to keep half of our deposit even though they are non-refundable.
I regret waiting for this apartment to be ready. We waited a month for it to be fixed up. We paid so much money... yet it was given to us like that. I will never try to live there again.

I am currently a resident at Four Winds and have been for the past 6 years. I'm not sure what this persons experiance was but mine has been nothing but wonderfull. The management and maintenance staff are very friendly and have always responded to any concerns me and my family have ever had. These apartments are an excellent value, both very large and compaired to smaller apartments in the area they are considerably less expensive. I can not believe that that this review is about the same community that I live in.
