Run, don't walk to another complex

We lived there one year (too long). The 24 hour maintenance number is a sham. It wasn't even responded to when the Fire Department called, they were there due to a faulty sprinkler system alarm that went off for three days. The document you may have received stating your good rent payments will be reported to the major credit bureaus is a lie, they have no capability of doing this. Upon move-out, we dis-connected our electric and for some reason we're being charged to turn in back on to the complex. This final amount should have been deducted from our deposit, which is what the lease says, they failed to do so and instead of sending us our final bill to our new address, we were turned into a collection agency for a lousy $83.00, $50 of that being an administrative fee to have the power put back into the apartment. Please don't rent anywhere with MAAC being the property managment company.

We did everything as per our lease. We turned in all keys, cleaned completely, notified the electric company to terminate our service, turned in a letter with our keys with our new address. The deduction for the electric being turned back on after we vacated should have been taken out of our deposit, if we really owed anything and since MAAC sent us our deposit, to our NEW ADDRESS without doing this deduction is a mistake they made and should have never turned us in to collections for their mistake. We were never given the opportunity to pay this bill. All in all, you did not help our credit as stated in your credit reporting document and you took it upon yourself to further hurt our credit for your mistake.

Apparently you are not taking the advice given to read things thoroughly and missed the statement that reads management has up to 30 days to give you notice in writing. They gave you notice within 15 days which is why you received the refund in the first place. You probably never received that certified letter within 15 days because you never left a forwarding address. Unfortunately the deposit check was refunded prior to our company receiving the utility bill from the Utility Company you should write on their website for the delay in billing, but as stated we reissued a revised statement of deposit to the last known address. We have had many residents that have received correspondence with us and have been completely satisfied with the customer service that MAAC provides. Those residents also left the community with a proper forwarding address and read their lease thoroughly understanding all stipulations in every paragraph. Bottom line is the lease states in writing that a balance is due on your account, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to take care of the situation. Many times if the balance is paid in full and not delayed in any form, management companies can contact the collections service agency to remove any erroneous records from your credit report.

People need to know MAAC OWNS the credit collection company that goes after you. That is why they find ways to go after everyone who moves outta there. The only way to beat MAAC and their "collection Agency" is to sue them. File a lawsuit against MAAC for millions each time it happens and report them to your state AG office and see how fast they pull it off your credit report. if you don't sue, you lose. period. file those lawsuits people. Put MAAC out of business.
