Run Fast and Far

My husband and I have lived here for 1 year, and overall it's pretty nice - If you don't count on using any of the amenities or living in comfort. The pool near our apartment is always in disrepair. When it is open and I swim in it it doesn't smell like there's a drop of chorine. Last week the pump backed up and puked into the water, there was feces on the side of the pool (nor sure if it was animal or human, but i wouldn't put it past some of these residents). The tennis court floods every time it rains, and most of th gym equipment doesn't even work.

It is completely overrun with loun, rude, and quite frankly scary teenagers whose parents aparently don't care what they do. There are no lights in the parking lot. Our garbage disposal constantly backs up, and when the maintenance man finally came to fix it last week (with a toilet plunger and water vac) he dripped sludge all over my apartment. The apartments are not even close to energy efficient - my electric runs about $160/month in the summer for 800 sq. ft. The spider webs in the breezeways are completely out of control. I'm scared to take too long unlocking my dorr - I'll be bitten! It's no rare occurence to walk through the door and emerge covered with webs (and probably spiders) - I've been bit twice already.

My husband is allergic to wasps and we reported 3 wasp nests in our breezeway 9 times last summer, they wouldn't spray once. My husband got stung and went into anaphylactic shock - it took and ambulance and the threat of a lawsuit to get them to spray. And so far i've called twice this year - they haven't sprayed yet.

Like I said, Run, Fast and Far!

Sounds like it has gone even more ghetto than when I lived there--perhaps the same generation of spiderwebs is still there from when I moved in 2001. Even when I liked the place, it was one of the complaints I had with it. However, the pool worked (though the jacuzzi was not working most of the time.)

When you live in a big apartment complex you can't complain about people not getting to things as fast as you want them to. The maintenance guys have enough emergency requests on their hands to ignore something as trivial as a spiderweb. The spiders will not bother you if you don't bother them. Take a broom and get them off with that. It's not that hard to do if you have any brains at all. Use common sense.

Yes this place is definately ghetto. As far as the spiderwebs go i dont feel that it is my job to clean the breezeways and rid the spider webs. And the emergency request half the maintenance guys are sitting around playing darts half the time and not doing their jobs. So Navy Gal if you feel so strongly about getting rid of the spiders why dont you do us all a favor and do it for us. When you pay as much money as you do to live here we should not have to do ----. As far as the pool goes i dont know how many times i have passed it and seen tampoons and condoms floating around.
