I would have recommended this place when we first moved in. The only problem was the gate was broken but we were told it would be fixed soon. It never was, and after all the complaints of break ins, robbery at gun point, and several motorcycles being stolen it was actually removed with no notice of being replaced. We were told we had a broken dishwasher and we couldn t run it for over a month. Finally after complaining several times we received a new one just to find out that it wasn t broke in the first place. It was the 3rd floor leaking to the 1st and not ours. You can hear every foot step of the people above you. You can also hear every single conversation of people who are outside because the walls and windows are so thin. Along with the noise it is impossible to keep heat/cold inside the apartment with the cheap windows. There is no lighting at all in the bed room and living room, which you don t notice to look for when touring the apartment during the day. The people at the front office are very nice when you move in but don t care once they get you to sign the papers. The pool and hot tub are disgusting. When my friends and I were in there during the day there was a used condom in the pool, and the hot tub always smells. They recently painted and put new landscaping in, to give the appearance of an up kept environment.. its not. THE WORST THING OF ALL - the area has gone downhill horribly. If you can live with all of these things I listed above, at least don t move in here for your safety. Everyone I have talked to doesn t go outside after dark, this is pretty sad. There have been several break ins with apartments and cars, motorcycles stolen, but the worst by far is someone held at gun point and robbed while getting their mail.

After having lived at Mariners Wharf for 18 months ... we broke our lease in December because of all the things mentioned above ... being older ... and retired ... we did not feel safe going out at night ... especially when we had to walk our dogs. The robberies and break-ins started to concern us since we have no protection ... we have now been contacted by a "collection agency" saying we owe $1000.00 to Mariners Wharf ... yet we never received any bill from them to begin with ... when questioned about the charges they said that $250.00 was for breaking the lease ... I go along with that ... but the rest was for restoration of the carpet and cleaning the apartment ... we had a cleaning team clean the apartment when we left and I know the apartment was clean. As for the carpets ... we had paid a non-refundable pet deposit ... and one month's rent as a security deposit ... none of which we got back ... and according to the collection agency ... was applied towards "damages and cleaning" ... that would mean that the carpets cost them almost $2,000 to replace ... I doubt that ... so my advice is ... that although we loved the "lake" and the "ducks" ... we are much more comfortable in our new apartment at Indigo Apts ... we have more room, a working gate, excellent maintenance, and we feel safe at all times of the day or night. If I was in the Navy and needed to live close to base ... Mariners Wharf is better than most locations we looked at ... larger and more convenient ... but otherwise I don't recommend it for a long-time location.

I agree with the concerns mentioned. The staff is very nice to work with, but there are some issues with the quality of the apartments. When we moved out of our apartment, the carpet was cleaned 2 days before we moved out. We also vacuumed the place thoroughly. After we moved out, we received a bill to clean the carpet; the explanation given to us was the Extreme Carpet Cleaning had to do a "special treatment," which would cost $150.00. They said that the wear and tear done to our carpet was a little below our expectations. . .although we have no pets and the MAJORITY of our apartment was covered by furniture and/or area rugs. I'm really disappointed with this fee and wish I had been present for the inspection.
