I was excited about moving to Orlando. When I moved in, it looked very welcoming. I've read a lot of the reviews on this page and I've never had problems with wild parties or drunk kids throwing chairs in the pool.
I have, however, seen more than my share of roaches. We went to make a complaint and it was taken care of that week. Since that time, the roaches have returned and we have made many trips to the office to ask for this problem to be fixed. Every time we go in there, they say, "the bug guy only comes on Thursday, come back next week." Well, how about putting our name on a list so we won't have to come back week after week' (Allegedly, the contract with the bug guy was broken and he's not coming back.)
Kitchen:
The bugs are a huge problem. One day, we pulled all of the appliances out from the walls to clean under them and glue down the lenolium that as curling up along the corners. We discovered a 3" diameter hole in the wall behind the stove where the plug was. There is also a 1 1/2" gap all around the dishwasher. The countertops in the kitchen are made from crushed cork and bow in the middle. The lip that hangs over the edge of the countertop is another place to where we see the roaches scamper off when the lights are turned on.
Closet:
The walls are moldy and when the A/C kicks on, it leaks into the bedroom closet, leaving an ammonia-like smell. (But the ants LOVE that corner of the closet where the water/mildew "mini-swamp" is.) We took a look at the AC housing area and saw that the air filter was, literally, caked with filth and the entire enclosure was rusted.
The white paint in the closet flakes off and falls all over your clothes when you look through your closet, so I have to keep all of my clothes in garment bags.
Misc:
The walls are REALLY THIN. We can hear our upstairs neighbors... well, we can hear them is enough to say. Our next door neighbors seem to play their music at what seems to be a high volume, but it's just the walls. When we brought it to their attention, they've been more consciencious. (We are fortunate to have nice neighbors.)
PARKING IS AMPLE AND WELL-LIT... Not sure about security. We had 3 police cars here on New Year's Eve.
There was a drunk- in his 50s, not some young kid- who would hang out at the pool. We just avoid him when we see him.
I take a bottle of bleach water and a towel into the gym because 99% of the people at the gym are NOT courteous enough to clean up after themselves and leave the equipment gross and sweaty. For whatever reason, they also feel the need to BLAST THE MUSIC as loudly as it can be played. I had to blow my nose once when I was working out, I went into the bathroom but there was no toilet paper, so I had to walk back to my apartment. I was told there never is toilet paper in there. I've seen the windows propped open in the gym bathrooms (It's kind of creepy, especially if you're the type to work out in the morning. Anyone can sneek in at night and wait it out.)
There are garbage dumpsters all over the place, with lids (which is nice) but for whatever reason, these lazy people can't seem to walk their fat butts out to the dumpster and, it's true, they DO leave it out in the balconies.
The locks on the windows are a bit of a concern for me. If you look at the apartments, take a look at them and you'll see what I mean.
If you chose to look at this place, be thorough. BE VERY THOROUGH BEFORE YOU SIGN ANY PAPERS.
