I have lived in this apartment community since Oct 2003 and it has been a nice place. Until Colonial Properties took over and raised the prices $200 or more. My apartment when I moved in was going for $850 a month now it is $1060. I live in a one bedroom with a loft and with this hot summer my apartment does not cool below 79 degrees in the afternoon, and the loft is above 80. I have called out the maintenence men numerous times to see what can be done and all I get is that the A/C unit is working properly. Also, they tell me that I have to just deal with the heat because that is how it is and they cannot do anything about it. Talk about a crappy community that cannot provide their residents with comfort. So I just walked in and put in my notice to vacate. I don't care if I pay a penalty fee, there is no way I can stay here any longer. If you decide to move into this community stay away from any upstairs type apartment or you will roast. Be prepared for the office not to care about your well being either. All I have to say is stay away...Colonial Grand at Metrowest will take your money and make you suffer for the length of your stay. Do yourself a favor and drive down Hiawassee or Kirkman and find yourself a better place to live. The Maintence men are the most unfriendly people, and you will hear some noises coming from people yelling at each other in the parking lot late at night. Also you pay for a gated community and the gates are kept open during the day and at least one is always broken.

I can't disagree with some of these points, ie, lack of parking, lots of noise in the area, and rather dubious residents (drag queens, bangers, et al), but this IS a major metro area. I've had no problems since moving in. I find the staff to be as on top of things as they can be, considering they have to baby-sit so many people who would whine about the climate. If I have but one complaint it would be of the design and some "features" of the units. Who was the pot smoking boob who decided to put closets in the bathrooms, and with cheap metal bi-fold doors that will continually rust? Has this builder never heard of humidity? Beyond that, I have no complaints. It is what it is, a RENTAL.
