Well my first year at Boardwalk wasn't too bad, but the second one...I can't wait for my lease to end. There are the usual parking problems at a college apartment (meaning you won't find a spot if you come home to late and are then forced to park down the street at a hotel and walk so that your car won't get towed. The management at Boardwalk is what really sucks. We are supposed to have a security guard at night. They are supposed to help us find parking and walk around the complex every hour for safety. This NEVER happens. If you call the number a person will answer the phone and tell you that they have to page the security officer and he will call you back. When he hasn't called 1/2 in to waiting, I call the number again. She says that he has not answered his page. On more then one occasion it has taken him more then 1 hour to call me back. You can ask the fire dept. about this as well. The alarm has been pulled several times and the only one with the key to the room to turn it off is...the security guard no where to be found. Also, on new years of '06, my boyfriend was meeting up with me at my apt. It was pretty late, about 3 am, but he was jumped while sitting on the stairs to my building. They stole all of his stuff, got a nasty black eye, and knocked him unconscious. Once again, where is the security guard' Of course we called the cops. There were 2 fire trucks, 2 cop cars, and an ambulance in the middle of the complex for about and hour. Security guard was never seen. Another thing is they decided to give everyone queen size beds. Now at first I was excited for obvious reasons, but then they arrived. Um, can we say that I am now sleeping on a rock. I was extremely annoyed when they came into my apt. at about 8:30 in the morning and took my old bed from me. Then they told me that the new beds were not delivered yet so I would have to wait until later that afternoon to receive it. Then when the beds finally get there, they put the mattresses on the floor. We didn't even have any bed frames....for months. I spoke to management about this and basically I was told, too bad (even though I am paying for my bed not to be on the floor in my rent).
