I don't recommend

This is my second year living here. Last year, I enjoyed Boardwalk most of the time. Safety didn't seem to be an issue, and the complex was fairly quiet as long as you weren't too far in the back of the complex. One of the problems I had the first year was our A/C. It went out (froze over, or whatever) at least 2 times a month. This always seemed to happen late on a Friday night. However, the maintenance guys would come out on Saturday or Sunday and "fix it." It never really was fixed...just patched to hold over for a week or two. It has gone out again as I'm typing this. I called the office and the guy told me "Well that's not an emergency, we'll have someone out there Monday." I could live with that if it wasn't getting up to 90* in here. We have a maintenance phone line (supposedly) for stuff like this. Also, our washer and dryer. The washer BANGS against the wall of bedroom B (my room). It moves all over the place during its cycle. The dryer...is pointless. You have to run it about 3 or 4 cycles for everything to get dry. This SUCKS UP electricity, causing us to have overages. They have replaced the filters, checked the lines, cleaned out all lint they could find, and there is still a problem. But they won't replace the dryer, which obviously needs to be done. The beds: I am the only one in my apartment that has gotten the "upgraded" bed. It's hard as a rock and super uncomfortable. I suggest you bring a mattress memory foam bad with you! I do prefer this bed over the others though...the others are made for very small people. When I moved in, there was duct tape holding one of my windows together. The duct tape is covering a crack from one side of the window to the other. This still hasn't been fixed. I had a problem with my roommates last year. When you fill out the rommate match thing it asks for your cleanliness....my biggest pet peeve is a clean kitchen...(at least semi clean). Two of my roommates couldn't handle doing their own dishes, even though we have a dish washer. After having "roommate meetings" with all the roomies, things still didn't get better. Not keeping the kitchen clean is a violation of lease, so me and my other roommate tried to talk to management about it. They told us we could pay almost $300 to transfer to a different apartment but that is all they would do for us. Now let's move on to some things this year. The safety issue is horrible! I have been fortunate enough to not have my apartment broken into but I know quite a few people (mostly people in the back of the complex) that have had their's broken into. Someone (probably more than one person) is cutting a hole in the kitchen window to let themselves in. Then helping themselves to the electronics they want and are going out the back door. Most of these apartments are backed against the trees so it provides an easy get away/hiding place for the people that are stealing stuff. BUT, in all of these cases, it appears that the theives know exactly what they are coming for and where to go for it. They also are only hitting all girl apartments that are either on the first or second floor. This would make one think that they are hand picking these apartments and are probably watching them for a while before they hit them. They also seem to know the girl's schedules so they know when to hit without anyone being home. The security guard is usually no where to be found. The only times I do see him he's outside the club house smoking, or inside the club house watching Monday Night Raw. The cops that have been called for these break ins don't seem to want to "waste their time" with college kids. There have also been a lot of car break ins. Parking: I usually don't have a problem with parking because I live at the front of the complex, but I can see how people in the back would have problems. Also the visitor parking is pretty pointless. The spots usually run out by about 8 or 9 pm so if you have visitors coming, the easiest thing to do is go park them somewhere else and then bring them back to your apartment. Noise: Last year it wasn't that bad in the front of the complex. This year there are parties everywhere. However, this is a college complex so you sort of have to expect at least some of that when you move in.

On the good side...the price and size of the apartment is better than the other apartments around here for students. BUT, the price is jumping up very quickly. Almost 15-20 dollars more a year than the last year. You do get your own bathroom because it's a 4/4. There is mold on vents in the bathroom, which is pretty gross.

I don't recommend living here for a lot of reasons. But just to sum it up: maintenance, management, washer/dryer, safety, parking, and the A/C sucks!
