Reviewed by: Anonymous Review Date: 10/8/2009 Rented: From 2007 To 2008 Parents - please be aware that you need to be involved every step of the way when dealing with a student complex such as Boardwalk. When my daughter moved in Boardwalk her apartment was in a deplorable state. I took pictures and documented EVERYTHING and this information came in handy at move out time when they attempted to charge us for issues that were problems when she moved in. Once, while in the office, they mistook me for a student and I was able to observe the manager attempting to mislead a student into signing a form giving them free regin to make changes to the apartment - while charging the student. I would classify this treatment as bullying - I would have stepped in, but the young man was doing a very good job of standing up for himself. Rather than a student apartment I would suggest looking for a rental home ran by a "normal" landlord, not a corporation in the business of making as much money as possible off your student. I have a friend whose son lives in the complex - he is stuck with dope heads who have damaged the apartment - the complex refuses to work with him or to help him move to a different apartment - DO NOT believe them when they say you can move to a different apartment should there be roomate issues. If ever there was a time that a student should be allowed to move it should be when his roomates do drugs NO QUESTIONS ASKED. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH

I had a lawyer lined up, I was ready to play hardball and was not going to pay the outrageous move out fees. I had a multitude of proof and was willing to post it to the web, I think because of that I was referred to their corporate office, once I shared to pictures with them I got my full refund (a vary rare occurrance from what I've been told). Ths incident with my friend's son really burns me and I've been encouraging him to see a lawyer as well - those dope head roomates of his have parties when he is not at home and he come back to something broken everytime - I see Boardwalk attempting to go after him thinkin he's the one they'll get the money out of saying it's your word against theirs. He's tried to work with the management to move and they could absolutly care less - so much for their roomate matching - Boardwalk "placed" the doppies and they should man up and get them out!

Why can't we do something about this apartment complex? I have heard from numerous tenants who have told of horror stories. My daughter's apartment was broken into because of the "failed" gates that were NEVER repaired. They seem to charge the students with causing all the problems, but management never takes repsonsibility for the problems, and uses this "bullying technique". Aren't there legal resorts?
