When the time came for us to move out, my roommate and I were confused as to why they refuse to do a walkthrough of the apartment with you. I understood why after we received the move out paper work. We were "charged" to have the carpet replaced because of pet stains. We never had one animal in our apartment in the 1.5 years that we lived there. I even mentioned to the GM (who is awful) that the lady that signed our paperwork said that it would be marked that the carpet was dirty and that we would not be charged for it. I was told that she didn't work there anymore (can't remember her name) and that the carpet was new when we moved in. Long story short, they ended up shooting themselves in the foot because they had sent me paperwork showing that the carpet was two years old when we moved in and not new. The GM gave me the "benefit of the doubt" and didn't charge us. I was ready to take them to court, but she did back down because I was right. IF YOU MOVE HERE (which I don't advise) please take photos of EVERYTHING! I wish I had because it would have made things A LOT easier. And DEMAND a walkthrough with the staff when you move out - so you're not two states away and being charged $1200 and feeling helpless!
