I lived in Camden Landings for a year and it started out good. The management and staff were nice and the neighbors were friendly. When management changed things started to go downhill FAST! They stopped screening the tenants and let hoodlums move in. The family that moved in above be consisted of a wife beater, a hood rat and a toddler. I could hear them fighting like they were right next to me and called the cops on the 4 TIMES in a 2 month period. When I told the staff about it they kind of shrugged their shoulders.
I should've known there would be problems when I looked at the apartments. I wanted a 1/1/den and the lady showed me 2 apartments. One was $40 more than the other. The apartments were EXACTLY THE SAME but they were in different buildings. I didn't understand that. One of the reasons that I moved out was because of the rent increase. When I told them I was moving because of the rent increase they said they'd "work with me". I didn't understand how an apartment the same size as mine was a different price in a different building. They offered to let me move in to another apartment in another building on the other side of the complex so I could keep my same rate. I told them I was NOT doing that. Ridiculous!
I also didn't want to pay the ridiculous trash pick up fee. I told them I didn't want to pay it because I wasn't lazy and would take my trash down to the dumpster myself. It wasn't that far! They told me I couldn't do that.
When I moved out I cleaned the apartment from top to bottom. I vacuumed all of the carpets, bleached the kitchen and bathroom, mopped the floors...I even cleaned the refrigerator! When I got my final bill they stuck on charges for cleaning and "trash removal" which is COMPLETE B.S. I left that apartment spotless!
