I have no idea where these other people live with all the potholes, mold & bugs. I've never had mold, had ONE bug in my apartment in all 15 months of being here and I've never seen a pothole either. The pool and gym has always been in service in all the time that I've been here. Now, ages ago Camden Reserve used to be 2 separate apartment complexes so maybe these people live in the old section, which is the one that doesn't have the "brick" facade.

I live in the new section (whatever!). I have a 1 bedroom w/ a den and a washer & dryer on the third floor. Like I stated before I've only had one bug in my apartment. However, the breezeways are full of spiders, which is probably why I don't have bugs in the apartment, so I don't mind them so much. The walls are practically paper thin and don't even get me started on the windows! Around Dec/Jan some drunk idiot on the first decided to call the police for no reason @ 2am. Obviously, the cops showed up and started banging on their front and patio door for an hour!! I swear to god I thought someone was breaking into my apartment. It sounded like they were knocking on my bedroom window. The kitchens are outdated and so are the washer & dryer. So far, I've only had one maintenance issue and the guy was at my door in 30 minutes on a Saturday. No lie! The neighbors are so-so. There are nice hard working people, but occasionally you get the few ghetto neighbors that think the parking lot is their damn auto shop. All of these things I can deal with.

Now, the sole reason why I will not be renewing my contract in October. The rent is ridiculous!! I was quoted $676. The contract I signed said $676. For some damn reason I pay $700 or more every month. Mind you, that the rent is not the same every month. I was told rent "includes": water, valet trash and cable. I moved in before the mandated cable fees, so that's not included in my rent. Here's where they get you. Water - you get a "bill" from Camden for about $9-10, but you also get a bill from OUC for like $30 something, WTF'! Valet Trash - "included" in quoted rent, yet billed separately on your account AND on the little "bill" you get every month! Oh, and some other crappy fee that I have no idea what the hell is for. Nobody in the office can give you a straight answer or any kind of answer when asked about this. And they're accounting system sucks. Example, in October of '08 I paid my rent at the beginning of the month, like always. On the 7th I get a letter on my door stating that I have 3 days to get out or pay almost $1000 of over due rent! Again, WTF'! I decided to pay it and deal with it later as I was just about to leave town for the weekend. Monday, I go into the office to ask what the hell was going. They tell me the check came back as "insufficient funds". I called my bank, nobody tried to even cash the check! I demanded Camden refund me the late rent fees. They said the it wasn't their fault, the bank has to refund them to me. What'! After a week of arguing with these people they decide to refund me the fees. They need some bullcrap paperwork from the bank. Done. January rolls around and STILL NO REFUND! It took them until February to credit all the fees. In May, they give me back the "bad" check I gave them in October. Seriously!

The manager is an idiot. She'll sit and pretend to listen to you, but she doesn't really care. Oh, and by the way, it took her 2 months after I moved in to sign my contract and she had the balls to date it the same day I signed mine. Um, isn't that fraud' And the rest of the staff is only nice to you to get you to sign a contract. After that, they don't know you and they don't care.

Oh, and in terms of safety, I feel pretty safe. Although, the gates are open all day and only closed at 9pm and that's if they're in service. I've only seen the cops here once for that stupid drunk. Never seen a car broken into, stolen or people dealing drugs in this complex. Down the street, that's another story...
