The first year I was there I was in a 3 bedroom. My schooling would be finished in only 6 months, so I was leaving the apartment. They assured me they would give me a 7 months lease, so we decided to stay. We signed a 7 months lease and were preparing to move in. We were then told the apt. was not ready, so they typed up a new lease and gave us a different apt. The problem was that when they retyped the lease, they put in 12 months, which we did not notice. I moved out at 6 months, but continued to pay, honoring my contract. When I went in to pay for the last 1/2 month, they told me I was checking out early and I was supposed to have given them a 60 day notice. That is when we discovered they had eroniously typed the 2nd contract. No one could give me any any information. I kept calling and they kept telling me I needed to talk to the manager, but she never returned my calls. They then sent us a bill for $1385. I was very upset and tried numerous times to reach the manager, with no success. Next we got a call from a collection agency telling us we were using stalling tactics for not paying the bill. They were VERY rude. The staff at the apt. did agree that the contract was wrong. They sent a corrected bill to the collection agency, BUT NOT TO US! We still did not know how much we owed. I called the collection agency and they kept saying we were stalling. I just wanted to see the bill. They were suppose to fax a bill to me - they never did. Finally, on the day the new bill was due, I got someone at the apartment office to fax me a bill. A note on the bill says must be paid in 15 days. That was the end of the 15th day. So now the collection agency will continue to pursue this by way of "credit bureau reporting". We are trying to pay the bill, but when they only send the bill to the collection agency and not to the tenant, how can we pay' Either this place is the biggest ripoff or someone doesn't know what they are doing in the office. Either way, my credit is getting messed up.

I had an issue with them recently where they kicked us out with no notice and lied about the reason...and then sent us to a collection agency. They then tried to bill us for $250 in electricity that we didn't use...and every time we asked for a copy of the bill from the electric company, they faxed us the water bill. No one there knows what they're doing. There's a good reason they changed their name.
