I have lived in Ender's Place for a year and a half. Ender's Place has adequate housing but nothing special compared to Baldwin Park's other apartment living areas which are run by different management. But I must say that for the first year, I experienced few problems with my apartment and the average living wasn't enough to motivate me to move. However, during the course of my second lease, I have had MANY bad experiences with the management. I have had the same structural problem occur in my apartment on three different occasions. The management sent maintenance to fix it but each time the maintenance people did a sloppy job and the structural issue occurred again. After reporting the problem to the management for a third time! I got a simple "the property manager will call you." Instead, I had to take matters into my own hands, and went to Home Depot - consulted the Home Depot staff for a better solution spent $150 to buy the supplies and fixed the problem myself (how can a woman with a small build do a better job than the maintenance crew'). I have also requested other small fixes and issues that needed to be addressed and the management has taken its time. I often have to follow up with their management 2-3 times over the course of a week before something is taken care of. Also, over the year that I have been there,I have notice the property slowly slipping in terms of up keep. A HUGE pot hole was left in the parking lot for over a month before it was fixed. Several street lights have not been working for the past 3 months which forces me to enter my apartment in the dark and I feel very unsafe doing so. The trees often get severely over grown and I have to move them or cut them myself to get proper access to my door. Of course I have reported these problems but nothing gets done without follow up. I am certainly going to move to another part of Baldwin park with different a different management group when my lease is over.
