Trash at the entrance is always mountainous. Some tenants refuse to follow the "Furniture/ Bulk Items Should Be Disposed at the Back" rule. Not enough maintenance staff either. Wait time for repairs average 3-4 weeks. Complex is in notorious part of town that is always in the local news for violent crimes; area was described by city paper as "Murder Capital". Complex was closed off a few times during our stay due to police looking for bad guys. (Although the constant police presence was comforting in an odd way.) A neighbor was beaten up outside the complex by a man who tried to unsuccessfully rob him. Safer if you have a car. Gate never closed and was only properly functioning the first week we moved in last year.
Some neighbors are rude - loud music Saturday mornings, boisterous children running in apartments above, parents shouting at kids. Thin walls, or loud pipes, so water pressure noises are heard.
Laundry center at the back is disgustingly filthy and also graffitti-ridden. Was closed off due to "improvements" that have yet to take place. Pool at back is also unsightly; ditto the Tot Lot for children which is muddy or dirt-filled depending on the weather.
Friendliness of staff on a scale of 1-5 would be a 2. The manager though is very helpful and always seems to genuinely want to help. Good Can-Do attitude.
Rent is going up in the name of "refurbishing" but still not worth the overall neighborhood.
