On August 29, 2009, SEVEN gun shots went off right outside our bedroom window.

We reported an outdoor light being out on our building exterior near the parking area back in early July; it still has not been repaired after 4 reports to the office about this light being out.

Some time ago, several holes were dug in the ground near the parking area. Due to the light being out, I twisted my ankle by falling into one of the holes at night before I knew it was there. After reporting the holes and requesting they be filled, nothing was done. My partner finally got a shovel and filled it himself for our own safety.

While the unit is pet friendly with a washer dryer in each unit, the lack of safety & security and lack of attention to maintenance requests make this an UNDESIRABLE living location.

I totally agree with this post. It has been the worse place ever. It may look decent when you first arrive but it won't take you long to learn that it is unsafe, unsecure, and when you report things they are not taken care of!

Hi I wrote the above post, made an account... not sure if you can (if you prefer) to respond privately via IM or something. We found spent shotgun shells outside my building today. Island Club cannot provide for the security of any of its tenants.

I completely agree with this post. I lived here from August of 2006 until February of 2008, this was back when they were doing all the renovations and painting the place that God awful yellow. I believe it was the summer or the Fall of 07 a kid got shot right outside my window as he was coming one. There were two guys trying to rob a tenant and apparently this tenant had a gun so they were shooting back and forth across the parking lot and this kid got caught in the cross fire. It took them almost a month to even acknowledge that this happened and did nothing to increase security. I became terrified after that and could not sleep at night only when the sun came up. Also while they were doing the renovations, they were fixing a leak that was in my wall that I had been telling them about since the day after I moved in and they never fixed, the wall ended up falling entirely after they supposedly fixed it and they had me living with a plastic bag over the hole. They have horrible maintenance and horrible management that would not get back to me when I complained about it. Basically we got out of the lease by threatening to sue them for the conditions we were living in.
