After living in college housing for 3 years prior to this it was a dream come true. However, after being there about a year certain things that didn't matter so much compared to my previous experience now became annoying.

--Walls are paper-thin, even worse than College Housing. My upstairs neighbors at times seemed to be running in a track meet.
Other than that it's VERY quiet.

--Poor construction, my roomates window leaked for months before they fixed it, mold everywhere. There was a note one day in our aparment that said some people had come and cleaned the mold off the windows. No, it hadn't even been touched. I brought this to the manager's attention and she said "Oh'"...that's it.

--Bugs and animals...come on (those who complained about this), it's in the middle of the woods and basically on top of wetlands. It's to be expected! They sprayed often enough to help a lot.

--Maintenance: inconsistent. some things were fixed immediately. others sat broken for months.

--Parking was excellent and I always felt safe, even though the 'gate' was pointless and worked a total of maybe 90 days out of 2 years. it got re-broken because no one was ever used to it working and probably were not paying attention. loophole in lease makes complaints about gate useless. apparently you can advertise yourself as a 'gated' community without actually having to be one.

I would save overall an OK experience, although we had some problems with ending our lease (they just don't want you to leave!) we ended up getting 100% of our deposit back plus interest! (which was like $20 but still impressive)

If you're willing to pay top dollar for apartments like the Vintage charges but want to get what you pay for then check out The Flats at Avalon Park just up the street. I live above a BAR and hear NOTHING!
