A Dose of Reality

Unlike the majority of residents who post their reviews, I don't feel the need to remain anonymous. Most residents will realize that, yes, I am a member of the staff, but they also need to realize that I was a resident for over a year before I ever started working at the community.

In regards to most issues stated on the site, I would like to say that there are always two sides to every story. If you have never worked in property management, you may not realize the amount of daily work that is created by dealing with resident issues. There are nearly 1000 residents that live here, so please realize that we cannot solve every problem immediately. The maintenance staff works hard to correct any problems as soon as possible, but sometimes they get back-logged with work orders. If you have a problem that is recurring and needs immediate attention, it would do you good to follow-up and check the status if you feel that it isn't being handled properly. On the rare occassion that work orders don't get done, it may just be that someone in the office forget to make a work order (we all make mistakes), so please forgive us.

Another hot topic seems to be the construction. Please do not think that any structural problem on the community is being ignored. There is a construction crew on property working full time to correct these problems. Please realize that if you do have problems, most cannot be fixed immediately due to staffing, timing, inconveniences, budgeting, etc.. It is unfortunate, but please understand that there is only so much that can be done without creating chaos. As for the noise, I would like to reiterate that you are living in an apartment. Most residents are respectful of their neighbors. I apologize for the few bad apples, but if you want complete silence, you may want to consider moving into a house.

As for the community itself, there aren't many problems. You would be hard-pressed to find another community that is located in such a serene area with such abundant natural surroundings. For those of you scared of the wildlife, don't get carried away. There has never been a report of rabid raccoons attacking the residents or their pets. Most, if not all, other wildlife will keep their distance from you if you don't harrass them.

As for the on-site personnel, my opinion may seem biased, but is accurate. First of all, the vast majority of the residents who live here are great and, as community representatives, the entire staff does make an attempt to get to know everyone and maintain a pleasant demeanor. In fact, one of the reasons I enjoy working here is being able to meet, and become friends with, many of my neighbors. For those of you that complain about the poor attitudes of management, please consider your disposition when dealing with us. I realize that many issues covered in your lease may become confusing and can result in problems during and after tenancy, but we do go through the lease with each resident when they move in, covering the most important topics. As a resident, you have the right to, and should, possess a copy of your signed lease agreement. Please READ THE ENTIRE LEASE and UNDERSTAND IT before you accuse us of being the bad guy in a conflict. Also, the signed lease is a legally binding document, and per law and company policy, we must adhere to it. Albeit, there are instances when there are exceptions, but there are always mitigating circumstances in those cases.

In conclusion, please consider that creating a mountain out of a molehill only causes undue stress, so please look objectively at every situation. For those of you that feel the need to broadcast your perceived community downfalls to the world, please make sure that you bring it to attention of the front office and give us a chance to correct the problem first.

I wasn't going to post an opinion but many reviews are getting to a point of ridiculousness and are clearly motivated by misunderstandings. I just want everyone to know that I am not only a happy employee, but an even happier resident.
