Not a good experience

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
When I went to visit Knightsbridge, I thought they were beautiful and everyone in the office seemed very nice and helpful. Once we were signed up, the helpfulness dwindled. On the day we got our keys, we went to open the door to our apartment, and it was open already because the cleaning lady had just begun! I would think this should have been done much sooner than that. It took weeks to get our names in the gate box to buzz people in. I had packages delivered to me with hundreds of dollars worth of items. When packages can't fit in your box, they go to the office. When I went to get my items, the girl just sent me in the room to take whatever was mine. My package was not there. Probably because she sends everyone in the room to get whatever is theirs, or whatever they would like, just like she did me. Her response to me was that she "knew me". She may know she set me up with my apartment, but she did not know whether or not I was a thief, or if anyone else there was. They should have been checking ids and matching id names with packages. Our apartment, upon moving in, was dirty. Many electrical outlets were missing their covers. Our washer did not work and it took numerous calls to finally get one that did. The male workers did not wait very long after ringing our doorbell before they just let themselves in. We were living in our unit while they were replacing electrical boxes on the outside of units. This required us taking everything out of our kitchen cabinets while they removed them to get into the wall. They left our kitchen like that for days and we never received any type of rent discount. After our cabinets were put back into place, they never came back to paint our wall back to it's normal color until we harrassed them over and over again. The walls are super thin. We somehow had three different sets of tennants live above us in our one year there. All of them had kids that would run back and forth all day long starting at the crack of dawn. You can hear conversations above you and it's so unpeaceful. Our sidewalk to our apartment was a literal flood every time it rained. It was impossible to walk to our door without water being up to our ankles. Both tubs were clogged upon moving in. Closet doors were broken. Fixtures were falling off the walls. Doors would not shut and lock properly. I feel like someone should be able to move into an apartment and worry about their end of things rather than making an apartment complex fix what should have already been done. Last, but not least, the majority if people they rent to are of lower income and lower class. The amount of kids living with their parents takes things over. You cannot go to the pool without having ten kids jumping all over you while their parents, if they are even present, ignore them. You'll also be lucky to hear any other language around you besides spanish.
