Decent at best

I moved here in November,'03 and have experienced many of the problems mentioned so far.

My #1 complaint is the paper thin walls and ceilings. I can hear my neighbor talking on the phone, literally word for word. If she has the tv on, I know exactly what she is watching. And she is a relatively quiet person. But let me say that the problem is not with her at all.

Furthermore, the ceilings are not concrete slabs, so you can hear your upstairs neighbors walking around. Very cheap to say the least.

A big heads up:If you plan on having any kind of "relations" with you significant other, you should realize that your neighbors are going to hear EVERYTHING.

Another problem I have is that the model show apartments have things that are NOT in the rentals. Pay attention to this. They have granite/marble countertops and tiled floors. The regular units have fake venear tops that look similar to the granite tops in the show units, and the tile is cheap vinyl, again styled to look like the real tile in the model units. Yet, amazingly, they failed to mention this fact to me at lease signing time.

It has not been hot here since I moved in, so I have not really used my A/C as of yet. But if you do take a tour, look in the closet which holds the hot water and a/c unit. You will plainly see the EnergyGuide ratings on each unit.

The A/C is rated as being the LEAST EFFICIENT at a 10 (10 being the least and 17 being the BEST). The hot water tank is rated for a yearly cost of $415. That's roughly $35 a month in electricity alone! Remember this when they tell you that the average utility bill for a 1 bdrm unit is $40-50.

Both of these are totally unacceptable for a building that was constructed only a couple of years ago, especially the A/C units.

To summarize: If you pay the $1065 a month they advertise for a 1bd, you are a complete fool. This is MAYBE a $650 place...TOPS. I am paying $795 and feel pretty taken to say the least.
