A shame, really

On the plus side, I had a beautiful view of the city. The apartment was lovely. Good construction, but the kitchen floor was of vinyl.
Overall, though, it's overpriced. The reason: it's filled with tacky, tacky residents. Not the professionals I expected, given the high rent. I was cussed at by folks in their SUVs as they cut me off in the parking garage. I'd find frat boy types throwing up in the stairwell. People would trash apartment common areas for no reason. One Sunday morning, I remember finding in the elevator a three-foot-tall planter. broken, with a tree still in it. At its worst, the elevator in the parking garage and the the stairwell smelled of puke.
I'm a tolerant person and I'm used to living in apartments. In fact, my favorite past home is a $1400/month two bedroom directly over a rowdy bar in Manhattan.
But the awful neighbors at Lincoln at Delaney Square were too much to bear for the rent. If you want to live downtown, rent a house. I now have a beautiful 1400-square-foot home for nearly the same price.
