We were thinking of moving here, until we took the second tour.

Last year, we were looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment. At the time, Mission Club seemed to have some pretty good deals, but we decided just to take a 2 bedroom in my bf's old apartment complex. With our lease ending in 2 months, we decided to start looking again. They have a HUGE balloon outside saying "GREAT SPECIALS!!" but in reality, it's just ONE free month. Whoop-tee-do.
Though the outside of the complex has been repainted, my bf and I were almost embarrassed to even look at the complex. It has gotten very rundown in the last year. The parking lot look horrendous, and there are TONS of broken down/beat up vehicles with flat tires there. One of the first things we noticed while riding to look at the "showcase" apartment was all of the half-clothed hoodlum looking people outside just "hanging around". This was at 2 p.m. on a weekday. Makes me feel uncomfortable to have THAT many people just "hanging around" cars.
We walked the hallway to the apartment, and it looked like a rundown motel hallway. The floors and walls were stained. Once inside the show model, we were pretty disgusted. The countertop in the kitchen was so warped, it had "waves" in it. It was once a white, but was a disgusting off-yellowish color to it. The carpet had stains and tears in it, and the tile in the kitchen had huge gashes in it.
The walls were fairly clean, but quite a few holes in them. Their bathrooms were a joke. I've seen a cleaner bathroom at Motel 6 in the middle of Yee-Haw Junction. For some odd reason, there are phone outlets in the bathroom. Who the heck knows why'' The bedrooms had tiiiiiiny "walk in" closets with rusty doors. The smell in the apartment was one that I've not quite encountered before.
We took a walk to the "fitness center" and it was also filled with men working out in the afternoon. Do these people have no jobs'' The pool was okay looking, but quiter a few people sitting around drinking beer.
Their "business center" had a bunch of teenagers playing on the computers, and the front doors to the rental office were broken. We tried to find some good points during our tour, but we just couldn't find any.
Forget the Mission Club unless you're desperate and need a "okay" rundown place to stay. For those prices, I'd rather rent a motel room for awhile.

Mission Bay does suck, but this person posted a review for Mission CLUB, not Mission BAY.
