My Experience at Mission Bay

I've lived in Mission Bay Apartments for a couple of years. Overall, my experience has been good living at Mission Bay. The maintenance guys are friendly and professional. If you make a request for maintenance they are quick to start working on it and do a quality job. One of the maintenance guys name is Max. He is always on top of things, going out of his way to make sure things are in place. Always waves when you drive by which makes Mission Bay Apartments feel more like a family and not some place you live. I believe majority of the people that live here are families or individuals with professional jobs. The apartments do a great job maintaining the landscape. All of my neighbors are quiet, nice, and respectful.

On to the bad stuff...
Lately it seems like crime has gone up in this apartment area. It's usually people who do not live there that are causing issues. Since I've been there car windows have been smashed in, someone was held up at gun point and robbed, a honda was stripped in the parking lot, force entry into someone's apartment, etc... I think the apartment complex needs to do a better job with safety. It would be nice to make the apartments gated, but it turns out Mission Bay Blvd is a public street. If they were to do so I believe the apartment complex would be responsible in handling the cost for any and all road maintenance and pay a fee to the fire department/police to hold the code in their database.

Some areas in the parking lot are quite dark especially by the office. They could improve the light system. Parking is also an issue. There never seems to be enough spots for everyone. If you come after a certain time all the parking spots for your section of apartments are usually taken and you'll end up having to park in China and walk all the way back...not fun especially when its late. The other issue is the apartments are old so things like the AC unit are old. My power bill averages between $240 and $300.

Other than safety and expensive power bills I would recommend Mission Bay Apartments.
