Nice apts, good neighborhood, conveniently located but away from tourist hubbub

I lived at this apartment complex for 2 yrs. The first yr. was in a one-bedroom. It was spacious and the kitchen provided ample cabinet space as well as a large pantry. I loved the abundance of natural light in this 3rd floor apt...lots of windows, all equipped with nice mini-blinds. The French doors to the balcony was an elgant touch. The only thing I didn't like about it was that guests had to enter my bedroom to get to the bathroom.
The second yr. in residence was in a 2-bedroom, located on the second floor in a corner of one of the buildings. This location provided a great deal of privacy and gave the apartment more of a homey feel. Again, the apt. had great finishing touches including ceiling fans in each of the rooms, a bay window in one of the bedrooms, a large walk in storage closet in the foyer, intrusion alarm, and door-side trash removal. The two bedrooms each had a bathroom, however, neither bathroom was accessible to guests without actually entering a bedroom albeit near the door. The kitchen had new appliances, a large sink, tile floor, walk-in pantry where a washer and dryer hook-up is located, ample shelf space and a breakfast bar. I recommend the balcony over the solarium, you never know when you want to go out and enjoy the beautiful sunset or watch the space shuttle take off..not to mention it is convenient for smoking guests.
All in all the apt. complex was highly satisfactory. There was a nice pool, jacuzzi and children's pool. There is a playground, car wash area, laundry room and great fitness room complete with closed off kiddie-playroom. Also there is a business center for residents with copier, fax and computer although whenever I tried to use one of the computers..(yes, there was a time when not everyone had one in their home) they were always out of order. The office and maintenance staff were helpful, attentive and friendly. The staff hosts near monthly gatherings for residents such as a pizza and ice cream social...great way to meet one of your many neighbors. The neighborhood of Hunter's Creek is kept up by an association which $15 of the rent is sent to monthly. The area is beautiful, well-landscaped, and very clean. There is a lot of recreational space...playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, club houses, and golf, of course. Most goods and services can conveniently be found here. Hunter's Creek is a great location, small, safe, peaceful yet not out in the woods. The only area of Orlando it was not easily accessible to was UCF...thirty-five minute ride up the Greenway putting 75 miles on your car round-trip.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate it an 8 and a half. This score b/c the pool area is surrounded by buildings not affording much privacy and could be noisy for the tenants living around it. Also, a sauna would be a great addition. Oh, one other thing..the cable service is/was Hunter's Creek Cable (only option for this area), small with few channels compared to Time Warner most of Orlando has.
