Uncaring staff

I lived her for 2 years and during the first year I thought Osprey was the best Apartment Complex in Orlando. This was of course during the reign of the previous management. I even recommended Osprey to everyone I knew (three different friends ended up signing leases there). Then things began to change...drastically. When the new management company took over, we suddenly didn't matter. After the old maintenance crew left, it took forever for anything to be fixed in the apartment and when someone did show up they were rude and would even walk in without knocking. Beyond the minor detail of living with broken appliances/fixtures etc...I experienced total lack of compassion from the staff. During my last year of residency, my father unexpectedly passed away. My friends and family quickly sent flowers and plants with condolences. I'm not talking a flower shop but enough that the staff became agitated with having to sign for 2 or 3 of them (I work during the day and never see delivery people). When I did not pick up a plant for 3 days (that I didn't know was there), the office called my roommate and rudely explained that I had a plant at the Front Office, my roommate explained that we did not receive a note on our door advising us of the above and that I'd be by to pick it up. The staff answered back that it was 'not her problem' we did not receive a note on the door and that if I didn't pick it up by that afternoon they were going to throw it away. I couldn't believe it!! Then on top of that, my mom came to visit a week later to be with me and in the midst of a particularly rough (i.e. lots of crying) day two maintenance guys and a front office staff member stopped by to assess the mold growing in my roommates bedroom (that we had a work order in for over TWO months on and that no one EVER acknowledged even though we called repeatedly). I told them it was a very bad time and explained the situation. According to the Front Desk Manager, it was the only time they could do it and began the inspection. My roommate and I were moving out in a week and they still refused to wait. In the midst of my grief I had to deal with rude people who didn't see me as a consumer, let alone person with feelings, but only as a monthly rent check. I will never again recommend Osprey and I can only hope for it's current occupents that one day it will once again resemble the Old Osprey where you truly felt at home.
