Im a freshman at ucf. I moved here because I messed up my housing form and was forced to live off campus. I thought UCF affiliated meant that I was moving somewhere clean and safe... when i got here this place was trashed. im not even talking about dents in the walls or just worn looking im talking about mold, caked on spilled food, it was just unsanitary. I paid for the carpets to be cleaned because the office refused to take care of it till after a month of me being there. My family moved me into the apartment and instead of us going out to lunch and saying goodbye the 6 of us sat around cleaning for 5 hours ... and i had to keep cleaning for a week.
It has been three weeks now and i have found out that i missing furniture, the fire alarms are ripped out of the ceiling (my grandfather died in a fire so if you can only imagine what thats like to me) the patio blinds and screen are broken and just random crap like that. I am in a 4 bedroom beaten up apartment BY MYSELF because the office treated the people who lived here like crap. i guess pegasus landing stuck them in here knowing it was terrible and promised to clean it up but never did.
ok so now the place is looking better, i got the walls painted and the carpet cleaned and everything else ive cleaned myself (they should be paying me to live here) the girls that i mentioned before that are supposed to live here left their doors open for whatever reason (all there stuff is gone). one day a 40 year old maintenence guy walks in and locks all the bedrooms ... im 18 years old alone in an apartment with a 40 yr old man ... i freaked out. later when i went to maintence to talk about fixing some stuff they said that no one was ever in here to lock the doors............ tell me thats not the scariest thing youve ever heard' i also was told that there was an extra mystery key given out to some one ... theres a few more issues about keys and all this stuff but i dont want to make this too long. im just letting you know that im 18 years old paying $525 for a 4B/4B that looks like a total dump and im really scared. i dont feel safe here and the office managment is really rude to me even tho i found out from the maintenence guy that they already new they were sticking me into a complete ---- hole. also there were police telling girls in my english class not to live here because of the crime ... staying here right now just isnt the best choice ... anything that says "pegasus" is misleading you... there are ashton and jefferson apartments here that look really nice ... just i promise you dont want to be here.

It's been a few years since my daughter lived there, but she had the exact same experience. While she was living there they had a couple of murders. When I complained and stated that they needed to pay for additional security, they said that they place was under the juridsticion of UCF campus police. They must have thought I was quite stupid, but alas I am only half stupid. So I asked them, "so what you are saying is that since UCF police are responsible for the complex, that you are not allowed to also hire private security?". I continued with, "I wonder how the local banks get away with hiring security." Wait till you move out. All things wrong with all rooms will be charged to you.
My duaghter was also the victim of a maintenance man visit. However, when they said that nobody was in there while my daughter was sleeping, I told them that they were wrong. They insisted that they were not wrong. I said, well, I am holding a very large bunch of keys. These keys appear to be for every door in the complex, and they seem to have been forgotten here by the maintenance man. I said, but since he was never here, I guess I am not really holding these keys, and I think just go try them in a few of the apartment doors. When they work, I will suggest to the occupants that they call the office to report the person who was not at in their door, with the keys which were not left by the maintenance man who never was.
They changed their tune, after that.
Just leave, and refuse to pay the rest of the lease. If they take you to small claims court, get all of these off the web-site and tell the judge how you had to leave due to safety considerations. They violated the lease by not providing a safe place, therefore, you can get out of it.
