Very Strange Place

The apartments themselves were pretty nicely laid out, and there was nothing wrong with any of the appliances, the A/C, or the cleanliness of the place. The porch was a nice touch. The location was okay, but getting out onto Kirkman road in the morning was always a challenge.
The crime in that area is outrageous, though. Normally, an apartment complex really only has to take a few precautions to prevent widespread crime, but at The Pines, they needed to step-up security a lot more to make residents feel safe. My car got broken into once, and just about everyone else I know that lived there had the same issue.
Then, there was this one day, I was sitting next to the window in my first-story bedroom working on my computer, when I heard a loud *THUD* *THUD* *THUD* from above my head, followed by a loud **CRASH**. A second later, a body came careening past my window into the bushes. I went outside to see what was going on, and up from the bushes came a guy with a thick Hispanic accent announcing to everybody who had witnessed his nose-dive through the window that he was okay.
