You won't know what the future holds!

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I've lived here for over half a year and I loved it at first, because my apartment is big and nice for a 1 bedroom. The kitchen is great, though their brand new "stainless steel" appliances are the cheapest on the market, even cheaper retail prices than your average white appliance without the steel.
My concern here is that they waited until I'd put all of my eggs in their basket before telling me that they'd gone condo. I spent nearly a month going through their approval process before they mentioned it to me and by then all of the other apartments around were on two to three month waits for an opening!
Now I have no idea if they'll renew my lease later this year and that's scary. There are very few apartments left in this area and even less with availability--if I don't start planning now, I could be homeless.
I was also sold on a GATED complex, but the gates have not been in operation in seven months now! This is a very high traffic area and to have gates would make me feel a lot better about living in it. I feel that this place is a target for crime now, as the condos are selling for upwards of $350,000 and we can't even get a simple gate working'
The parking is an amazing nightmare. Not sometimes, but EVERY SINGLE DAY, my twenty-year old, 100 pound girlfriend has to park on the complete opposite of the complex, by their open gate and broken streetlight and quite frankly, that scares the heck out of me.
Most nights, I come out to escort her from her car.
The parking situation was recently worsened when the management kicked all renters out of their garages, stating that they'd all been sold, and were now the property of the owners. These garages take up about half of the parking spaces in the complex and now you're not even allowed to pay the extra money per month to get one. (the only way to get a reserved space)
Recently I was asked on a weekend to allow them to show potential buyers my apartment that Monday. I was busy that day and informed them that I'd like to reschedule for the next day because I would like to be there with my possesions when anyone goes into my place. The office almost talking down to me, said that it was too late to reschedule now that it was the weekend, even though they had JUST informed me of this tour they were giving. I finally got him to agree to reschedule, but sure enough, that Monday morning, they were banging on my door bright and early as my girlfriend and I were in the shower.
If I can pull the money together, and if I can find another apartment... I am going to break my lease, on the grounds that they haven't held to their promise (three times they promised me actually) of fixing the gates and that I feel unsafe. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
