I just moved away after living here for two years. Overall, Plantation Park made a wonderful home for myself and my family. Maintenance was always quick to respond and very helpful. The apartment was roomy and in great shape. Aside from a few annoying college kids, the neighbors were quiet and kept to themselves (except for the busy- body with the white dog!) I always felt safe coming and going, even though the gates never seemed to be working. The daily garbage pick-up was a great perk! As far as parking, I never had a problem finding a spot somewhere no matter what time of day or night. The people who complain about this are just too damn lazy to walk a few extra feet from their car to apartment!
A few downsides that might bother some people are:
1) The office staff seemed rather aloof and never responded to messages left on the answering machine.
2) The majority of the tenants can not park to save their lives. They constantly park over the lines, taking up 2 spots. (watch out for the banged-up white Saturn that has been missing two windows for the past 6 months or so!)
3) People tend to leave their dogs out on their balconies for the entire day while they are at work, so it can get very annoying listening to them barking all day. Also, there is a stench along the walk ways because people are too lazy to clean up after their pets.
4) Annoying kids without the required adult supervision rough-housing in the pool.
5) Gates never seemed to be working.
6) They require that each tenant with a car has a parking sticker and those cars without will be towed, however, after about 2 months of enforcing this rule they seemed to have forgotten about it, making the better spots more difficult to get.
7) When I moved in, they did background checks on all new tenants. I have to believe this is no longer policy considering some of the riff-raff they have started to give leases to.

Despite these minor complaints, I really enjoyed my experience at Plantation Park. I am going to miss my nice apartment and the great times I had there.

I will not renew my lease this year.
