I am stunned by other people complaining about the property owners UPGRADING AND MAINTAINING THE PROPERTY!!! Seriously' Only on the Internet...

Post Parkside is absolutely fantastic, especially if you live in the new--and newly rehabbed--low-rises along Osceola or Central Avenues. The tower used to be a hotel, and while the conversion isn't bad, I would recommend the low-rises. They're just better all around (bigger, newer, better construction).

You have a private pool, a small gym, SAFE AND SECURE access to the garage, buildings, and elevators. The tenants-only parking area always has available spots, is covered, and secure. The neighborhood is safe, young, and fun--lots of dogs, lots of couples, plenty of nightlife from local bars to upscale eateries. The office staff is VERY easy to get along with, always remembers your name, and is very willing to help you with special requests. If you work downtown, you can walk just about anywhere. Plenty of fantastic restaurants at the lake or nearby (walking distance) in Thornton Park.

The only drawback is price. You're getting new, very well maintained facilities (as the other commenters have pointed out) in the heart of the best neighborhood downtown. You can expect to pay about 10-20% more for the privilege.

I lived there for a year--before, during and after the construction--and have to say that it is the best rental I've ever had. I rented sight-unseen, and I'm glad I went with Post instead of any of the others I considered. I would still be in a Post property if they had one in Chicago!
