You get what you pay for

I moved into the area in December 07 and have lived here for about 10 months. My only issues with the place may very well be unit specific. Which is to say that I would highly recommend living here to anyone, so long as they're willing to shell out the $$.

As most others have said, there's less expensive housing in Orlando, but for the location and for the community I don't mind paying more. For the love of all things holy, DO NOT pay more to live in Baldwin Park. If you want to live in Baldwin Park, live here and walk instead. All of the shops and restaurants in Baldwin are probably a 2 minute drive and maybe a 10 minute walk, and the rent was $200 more to live back there.

The complex is great, there's a good pool and a nice friendly office. The workout room certainly isn't going to replace your gym membership, but they do have free weights and a few cardio machines. The office staff is VERY nice, and maintenance is usually under a 12 hour turnaround. I'll put in maintenance requests in the morning and they're usually done by lunch.

My unit (first floor) has had a few bug problems, but again these could be unit specific. I keep everything very clean, put some bug traps, and still occasionally (like once every 2 months) see one. It's Florida, and it's a first floor apartment, and I don't really mind.

The units are pretty well laid out, I'm in a 1BR and it's pretty big. The whole closet in the bathroom really isn't an issue, it could be bigger, but oh well. There's not much in the way of storage space, but I rented a storage closet for $25/mo and my worries are gone. The appliances (oven/range and fridge) are pretty good, I've never had an issue with either. But they don't come with a microwave! (GASP!) They're like 30 bucks, go buy one cheapskate.

My advice to ANYONE looking for an apartment is to read reviews - overly positive, overly negative, and realistic - and then go see the complex. Ask lots of questions, and try to see an EMPTY UNIT, not just a furnished one where management can play with spaces and make it look bigger/better than it is. Look at the cars in the parking lot, look at the stores around the complex, and look at the units. If it looks cheap, it probably is. If it looks nice, then it probably is. If you rent a crap apartment, and you knew it was a crap apartment, you forfeit your right to complain, because you got what you thought you were getting.

Best of luck-
