I lived at this property for one year and was very impressed with the initial appearance of the grounds and the affordability of the apartment. The location is great and I figured I would have the benefit of Baldwin Park without having to pay the extra $400-$600 a month rent to live across the street. I sign a 1 year lease for a 2/2 and put down close to $900 in what I thought were deposits (i will discuss that later, but basically they don't do deposits and hit you when you leave) and was moving into my apartment.

I was shocked to see that the apartment I rented didn't look a thing like the model I was shown. The awful black and white checkered floors were more black and yellow. There were holes in the walls from multiple people hanging things, and the filth in the sliding closet mirrors was disgusting. It took me about 4 days to clean the apartment up to my standards. I have rented 4 other properties and this by far was the worst I have seen. The walls are paper thin, be ready to get to know your neighbors very well. My neighbors snored at night and could hear the snoring and the TV until all hours of the night.

My new car is ruined from the tight parking and all the door dings I received. The grounds look nice, but watch out for dog droppings as nobody in the complex picks up after their dogs and they don't enforce it. Maguire and Bennett are noisy and I've seen homeless people sleeping inside the gate at night closer to the FedEx building. Luckily my car was never broken into.

I was shocked to see an $800 bill for carpets when I moved out along with other redecorating fees, etc. I left the apartment in the condition I found it. I paid my bill and thought that this chapter of my life was behind me, but I unfortunately received a call from a collections agency today saying that I haven't paid.

The staff there never follows up on anything you request, and they act like they've never met you when you talk to you. WHEN your air conditioner breaks down (trust me it will. Every person I know there has issues) it averaged 2-3 days to fix it each time. I asked for a walk-through 3 times prior to moving out and they never did.

This has been the worst rental experience of life and I wouldn't recommend this property because it's dirty, noisy, and the staff is rude. Just watch out because you get what you pay for. Ask to see the actual apartment prior to signing and getting the keys. They will probably refuse because they know their apartments are filthy. Get something across the street in Baldwin Park. It's new, clean, and just as affordable.

This review is NOT accurate AT ALL. Archstone is very safe, the allegations of homeless people in and around the property are completely untrue. I know because I go running daily and know every inch of this place - and have NEVER seen a homeless person here, or any of the other terrible things this person is making up. This sounds like someone who broke their lease and is upset they couldn't get their deposit back (that happens at every apartment if you move out early). My AC has never broken and everyone I know here has a great apartment and very few complaints. Staff are quick to take care of any problems as soon as you bring it to their attention. Also, grounds are picked up every morning - that part about dog droppings is also not true. Skip this disgruntled review - it's not giving you the real story.
