When I first moved here, the apartment office failed to tell me that they were about to go condo until a couple months into my lease. I got a note on my door saying that the apartment was going condo, and that they were giving a so-called discount for those who were already living there. Their asking price was ridiculous considering how the apartment were build and what was included - outdated appliances and crooked shelves. Anyway, tenants started leaving and then in July 2006 my apartment got broken into through the patio door on the second floor. The apartment was located in the front of a busy street and security men were supposedly be patrolling the area during that time. So comforting that thought was. Then I heard another apartment on the second floor got broken into (one of the security guy told me). I stayed there for about four more months after my lease expired and got notes from the apartment on my door, letting me know that my apartment could be bought and I might have to move out, depending what the new owner wanted. I was never told that my apartment was bought and was never told that my deposit was transfered to the new owner. When I moved out, I asked for a walk -through inspection and was told they don't do that. All the while, my apartment was supposedly bought in December and when I officially moved out in January 2007, I gave them the key, but found out that the key wasn't suppose to go to them, but to a Leo Baumer from Miami. This guy is a snake. All we got was this name and a phone number from the apartment office. Then I found out he had my deposit (a measely $125), and I've been trying to get it back from him, but he refuses to cooperate. He's been giving runarounds and lying. I don't know who they sell these apartment to, but I just have a feeling that they're just selling the apartments to whoever shows ineterest. Thinking about moving there' Please don't even think twice because it's just not worth it.
