Make the best of a bad situation

When I lived here, this place was called Rosewood, now it's Summerset. I lived here for about 2 & a half years and saw alot. The most common thing was the constant changing of office staff, and owners. I lived in a two bed/ two bath apartment, and when my roommate robbed me, and ran off with my stuff, the staff was extremily nice and moved me in a one bed one bath for no charge at all. My new apartment was close to the playground so I would hear childern screaming from time to time, but not after dark. My upstairs neighbors would fight ever night until they moved, but I found it to be more entertaining then disturbing. The mainatance was pretty good about repairing damaged things like busted water heaters, and a/c's, but some of the staff that worked in there were a real pain. Once the tenants got together and had the owners fire one staff manager for her constant rudness, and daily lies.
This is a low-income complex, so you get all kinds of life here. The only time the place got into the news is when an elderly mother shot her daughter.
The place doesn't have much of any grass, so I hope you don't mind driveway for as far as the eye can see. On the other hand, you don't put up with much of the leaf blowers.
I went by it in april and saw they had repainted the entire complex, and are building a whole new mailbox unit, and rehauling the swimming pool. They towed out all broken down cars, and raised the rates about $200 from when I lived there.
You can see that some of that extra money is being put to good use with a future secrity gate, and new windows in every apartment. My only beef with the place aside from some of the constant changing of staff, was the potholes in the parking lot. As soon as they filled one, another would open. Also the lot would sometimes flood in heavy rain.
If it's all you can afford, then I'd say go with it, if you can shell out a few buck more, then keep looking.
