Just as any other people moving to Orlando for a job, I had a rude awakening to apartments in Orlando. First let me tell you, the rent price doesn't mean anything, they'll let as many people live in one apartment as they can fit, I've seen 6 or even 7 people in a one bedroom apartment! (Very common by the way). If you are a professional, good luck, most people here are minimum wage that work in the area restaurants, hotels and Disney and I'm sorry for not being politically correct but they will bring you lots of headaches. People drunk and screaming and very often smoking (not cigarettes) litter the parking lot after midnight MO to SU, along with cars with loud stereos coming and going almost until morning, so forget about having your windows open ever. Cops show up very fast, if you have a chance ask the cops why, they'll tell you many stories about this property. Never had problems with the maintenance people and the apartments are ok, but smaller than most of the same price. If you have the misfortune of renting here, be prepared to pay every fee they can think of, and you better be surgical about inspecting the place before moving in, write down every little imperfection, even wear and tear, even the smell, don't let them tell you "Is OK that's nothing", most people I know didn't get their deposit back. Better yet film it all but make sure you write it in their check list (make a copy) because they'll find a way to keep your deposit, trust me. Pay special attention to painted bathtubs, toilets and counters, they'll charge you several hundred dollars for "resurfacing them" when you move out, which by the way is more paint on top. Compounding this is the horrible traffic of Disney, and no parking spaces at night, everybody's friends come to visit and they seem to stay overnight, but if you are not going anywhere at night is ok. I'm counting the days, the hours and the minutes to move out of here.
