I have lived in Sabal palm II (the yellow ones) for almost 9 months now. Ultimately, we chose to move to this complex because we were able to get a great deal on our two bedroom/two bath apartment. We were able to get a 1,130 sq. ft. apartment with a view of the lake on the third floor for $835/month.
We haven't had any problems at all with the office staff since we moved in. We have had to get a few minor things around the apartment fixed since we've lived here but they were all fixed within a couple of days from the time we called the office, and even with our cat in the apartment it never posed as any kind of a problem. We go to work in the morning and come home to find the problems fixed with a note saying that they've been here.
I really don't have anything good to say about the gym because it's small, it only has a few cardio machines and they don't work very well. My girlfriend and I usually end up walking on the large path around the lake instead of using the gym.
I haven't ever gotten into either of the pools because I always see ducks swimming in them at night and I'm not positive but I don't think duck poop is good for your eyes, ears and nose. There's really nothing that the complex can do about this though so I can't get too worked up about it.
Overall, I think that this complex is very nice and safe. There was some guy who was killed by a fake pizza man about 5 months ago but it was probably because he was a bad tipper:) Actually, I think the guy was into drugs or something but that's all hearsay. Just make sure that if you order a pizza from Papa John's and a Dominos guy shows up to your door that you don't open it, even if he says he has those really good little cinnamon dot things.
I had never lived in a gated apartment complex before living here so the gate was originally a big plus in my mind. Now the gate is more of an annoyance than a security device. I'm continuosuly followed into the apartment by people without keys (AKA killer pizza guys). The gates work about 95% of the time and when they aren't working it's not a big problem because they just stay open and I drive right through.
The parking is fine I've never really had any problem with it at all.
The office staff seems to be very helpful and they are friendly enough.
The exterior of the complex is well-kept.
The neighbors are nice and quiet.
The ducks are fun to feed.
The carwash areas are pretty nice but a little too small.
The valet trash pickup is wonderful.
The real tile in the bathrooms, kitchens and on the wall behind the oven is really nice.
The MetroWest area as a whole seems to be very nice with hardly any crime as far as I've seen.
There are a bunch of spider webs on the stairs in the breezeways but the spiders seem to be pretty tame.
Our utility bills are never very high because the place seems to be built pretty well.
We love our huge screened in porch.
I would recommend living here. It's the best apartment complex I've lived in so far and that means a lot coming from me because I'm very picky. To sum it all up... Pay your rent on time, don't bar-b-q on your porch, watch for killer pizza guys, wear ear plugs in the pool and you'll be fine here. It's a nice place.
