i moved in here in march and i first i was really concerned about all the bad things i had heard about the metrowest area. Yet as i started livign in the commuinty and gettign to see first hand what it was all about, i noticed that really the people who live in Sabal palm II is young couples , small families with kids, and working singles. just about everyday i can see people walking their dog or playign with thier kids around the lake. We keep to our selves, nop loud music or loud college kids. the gates work and always stay closed. i enejoy it here, if you drive down hiawasee the surroundign neighborhoods are just beatiful, with great grocery stores and other conviences.

There is also a known sex offender in that quaint, quiet place. Hope you don't have kids!

Your post gave some good info but I was hoping someone can respond to this and you seem unbiased. Can you tell me what elementry school this area goes to and if you would recommend this apartment complex to a family. Like can kids ride bikes? Is it safe? I know about the sex offender, but they are everywhere as ling as you know where they are, what they look like, and use common sence you can still be safe. Thank god for the sex offender registry!! Is maintenance responsive and timely. How well do the walls hold in noise? I have 4 kids! LOL! I'm looking for a good place to move to in metrowest that works for a large family! I'm from CT. Thank you

It doesn't matter where you chose to live, it is going to be an unsafe area. Honestly, the wealthier the area, the more you are going to be targeted. I love the Metro West area...I have lived there my entire life and nothing has ever happened to either myself or my family. Bad things can happen to you wherever you live...It is just a matter of being smart and aware of what is going on around you. As for the sex offender...they are everywhere...where else do you expect them to live?

I'm thinking about moving to sabal palms in December. I love the metrowest area but after reading all of the reviews it's starting to scare me. I'm from Union, NJ and I'm wondering if I'm making a poor decision about moving to Orlando. Is there anywhere that's considered safe in the area?? sounds like the city itself is just full of crime.

Maintenance is horrible. They used to be great, and now they're all complete idiots. No one knows how to do anything and it takes almost a month to get things done. The new manager is okay so far, but the other women in the office are still witches. You can't take your children outside, the roads are too narrow and there is dog feces everywhere. If you don't end up under a car or step in dog poop, you'll probably be attacked by one of the illegal pitbulls that are all over the complex. The walls are paper thin. There's no privacy unless you're living in an end unit. Yes, there is crime everywhere, but there is a LOT of crime in Metrowest.
