Sabal Palm at Metrowest

NOT Safe for females/children From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 5/10/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   I have been living here since Aug. 2007. The only reason we moved here was because our Apartment at The Hamptons-Metrowest was invested with mold and this was the fastest place to move into. Our apartment faces Raleigh st and you CONSTANTLY.. I mean constantly see cop cars.. ambulances.. everything. We've sat through dinner listening to police helicopters flying overhead sometimes once a week. I've seen SWAT here.. I've seen policemen running around the complex looking for god knows who, shots have been fired at like 4 in the afternoon. We just saw a pack of policemen with a couple dogs searching for a guy not too long ago. It looks beautiful during the day but you don't want to go out at night if you're a female. I know of someone who was raped in the parking lot at Subway and another female who was stabbed 6 times by a homeless man at the Walmart closeby. Our neighbor was robbed during the day and they took EVERRRYTHING.. which kind of makes us think it was someone living here since they were only gone for a few hours. I've heard other stories from other residents of muggings and whatnot and they NEVER notify you that this is going on.. the only way you find out is if you talk to someone that lives here.. or ask a cop whats going on when you see them... most of the time they say they're checking out reports of gunfire... Other than that.. staff seems very helpful and friendly. Parking is good. There's a LOT of dog crap on the grass.. sprinklers spray all over first floor windows..so it makes a lot of mold around the windows.. lots of cockroaches and SPIDERS on the first floor.. usually find them dead because the Orkin man comes like once a month to spray(can come once a week though).. he told me they get in because the apartment is not sealed well... what else.. my stove blew up in my face.. not completely exploded.. but something happened to a burner and it shot a huge flame up at me.. Master bedroom is ALWAYS hotter than everywhere else... same in my friends apartment. The alarm system doesn't connect to anyone. Most of residents seem friendly.. mix of college/families. OH!!! AND THE WATER PRESSURE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! REALLY BAD. I'm not trying to "rant and rave".. I just think these are some things you should know of that are going on here. Especially if you have the preconcieved notion that Metrowest is "the safest neighbor in Orlando" .. which is what they advertise.
