(Ratings based upon Lexington Place Condos.)
I found St. Andrews (Currently D.B.A. Lexington Place) when I was in college program for Disney World. My mom moved down here to be with me. Right away, Janice (very nice leasing consultant) gave us a deal on a 2b/2b apartment by the water. When I moved in, I noticed a light was out and a wondow shade was broken. The maintence guy, at that time, came right out and fixed everything that afternoon. My mom and I had no problems.
Then, Orlando (new owner) came in.
Going from cozy apartments into cold-hearted condos have been a joke. They claim to have made over 10 million dollars worth of improvements. However, their gates (for the gated community) have been broken more times than working. Apparently, when installed, they did not drill far enough down for the gates to be fully functional. Their water fountain, that Mr. Orlando desired, stopped working. They are now on their second fountain, and just bought a new one. Both do not work. We use to have a laundry room, but it is now a sauna that never steams. The excersize room was fully functional and open 24/7. Now they are only open to condos, and during business hours.
As a current resident (until August), the condo people have treated my family (including my dog) and the old staff with disrespect.
Yet, how said is it that they had to call an apartment maintence worker to fix a condo dishwasher' An older woman had just moved in and her entire dishwasher came out of the wall. It was not instaled properly. The maintence guy, working for the condos, didn't want to bother with it because it was a Friday night & he was unsure of how to fix it. They decided to call the apartment maintence guy Saturday morning, who was not on call.
Parking, when more people lived here, was a disaster. Now, everyone was kicked out, or wanted to move. Parking is great! *Note the sarcasm.*
My mom and I lived on the first floor, in the back, by the water. We had two attempted break-ins with one successful tries. We have had our mailbox tampered with as well. If you move in, I know the number to a wonderful police officer that will help you more than the office would.
If you're thinking of purchasing a condo, look beneath the surface. Read through the lines, take a look into detail, and look past the models they have holding signs / working out / by the pool.
If you are a young girl, like myself, you will be admired by Orlando (until he finds out you're taken), and despised by Lea (leasing consultant) and the models. If you are a young guy, make sure you look to have more than enough money, or they wont give you the time of day. Have a family' They'll love you and your significant other, but not the kids or pets. Looking to retire here' They will prey on you and take you for one heck of a ride.
I would have suggested this place prior to the conversion. Now...no. Not worth the money.
I hope this helps anyone looking around. There are some brand new condos that were just built for a somewhat cheaper amount. Nice facility and next to Publix on I-drive. If coming from Westwood Blvd., make a right. They will be right after the light by Publix. *Personal opinion* Then again, a cardboard box off of Orange Ave. would be better then Lexington Place.
