Apartments are two blocks from Lake Eola and an easy walk to Thornton Park and Downtown area. The prices are AMAZING, with ALL UTILITIES INCLUDED. The bad side is, the building dates to 1920 and is falling apart. Security is a little questionable - there is a code required to get in the door, but it hasn't changed for years and years and the doors are propped open a good deal of the time. The walls are pretty thick, so you get limited noise from your neighbors but can get some noise from outside. The fire alarm goes off occaisionally, but the fire department is close and arrives quickly to shut it off. Parking is on the street and is metered M-F 8-5 but it's not difficult to find a spot. There are about 10 covered spots for the complex that you can rent once you get to the top of a waiting list. Overall, it's good if you work downtown and are looking for someplace super cheap, but don't expect any amenities.

Not sure where you get the limited noise from. I always heard noise from cars screeching in the parking garage on weekends at 3 am, car alarms, people yelling, kids in the building partying instead of going downtown and fire alarms were a weekly occurance at one point. no one even paid attention to them anymore they were so often and you could expect the alarm to go off for 15 minutes at least since the fire department was even sick of going out there.
