My experience at Jefferson Lofts was bad from day one. The majority of people living there appear to be first time college students -- even though the management assured me there would be a mix of graduate and undergraduate students living in the complex. I was originally given the keys to the wrong apartment, but the management and staff just thought this was funny.

There are parties every single day. Garbage can be found in the hallways, outside the apartments, and outside the trash compactor. You can actually smell stale alcohol outside your apartment in the morning. It is so loud that I actually began spending the weekends elsewhere because I could never concentrate and get my work done.

I found the management and staff to be unfriendly and unprofessional 100% of the time. To sum up -- the office is chaotic. They do not seem to keep records, accurate records at least. I was forced to bring in every receipt I had from them and copies of my checks because they insisted that I had a significant balance on my account. After several days, they acknowledged that there was not a significant balance due on my account, but they did not even apologize for the inconvenience and stress. My electric overages were almost always less than what they originally tried to charge me, however by the end of my lease I had just begun paying whatever it said because I did not want to deal with the stress of talking with any of the management.

My apartment was also constantly infested with bugs due (I can only assume) to the garbage left outside the apartments and my neighbors as I spotted some of the insects coming through the vents. It was disgusting. This was another reason I actually stopped spending time in my own apartment.

I believe the one bedrooms are extremely overpriced. I assure you that although you might have to spend some time looking, you can find a better deal. Be sure to tour the actual apartment you want to live in because the model is not accurate, nor are the floorplans. Paying online was nice, but there is a charge to use a credit or debit card and they frequently report "not receiving your payment" even though it was paid online.

It was just stressful to live here. I would not recommend it for anyone who is interested in something other than partying. I also think it is important to note that there are homeless people who live right outside the complex and I have seen them wandering in on occasion. There are also tons of stray cats. It was very depressing to see the homeless people and animals on a daily basis. Also, several residents near me had dogs even though they are "not allowed" and never cleaned up their waste.
