HORRIBLE!!!

We lived here for 6 months, and although I fell in love with the apartments the moment I saw them, I couldn't wait to get out. I admit that the apartments are beautiful: granite counters, lots of windows and balconies, unique light fixtures, etc., but the construction, maintenance, and management are incredibly bad. At one point, I remarked to my husband that things were so bad that I felt like I must be on Candid Camera--it felt like someone must be playing a bad joke on me to see what my reaction would be. Our French doors leaked so badly that our apartment flooded, and the management didn't address the problem until 5 months--yes, that's right, 5 months--later. When they finally got someone to "fix" the problem, they found out that each door had multiple, major problems (just what we had been telling for months!), par for the course for this poorly constructed complex. Other units also had water damage, and several had mold. The noise was also pretty bad. Every time other residents shut their front door, the master bedroom wall in our unit would shake. As for minor maintenance concerns, we were almost always told that parts were out of stock and would "be in next week." When we moved, we were still waiting to get our blinds fixed with a part (which maintenance could easily have purchased from a hardware store if they were really interested in addressing the problem) which we had been told 6 weeks earlier would "be in next week." We were also told in November that the foyer would be tiled "next week." In March, when we moved, it still hadn't been tiled. You get the picture. Elevators are frequently out of service, and the alarm in the foyer goes off constantly. By the time we moved, they didn't even bother to turn the foyer alarm off any more. I guess they just gave up. The building we were in didn't undergo fire inspection (a process that involved having the fire alarms go off) until at least 6 months after residents were living there (a bit disturbing). It failed first inspection, even though management told residents that it was all finished, and we had to have several more unannounced fire inspections/alarms thereafter. The best way I can describe living there is CHAOS. If you enjoy chaos, then you'll love it. Incidentally, part of the problem here is some (of course, not all) of the residents themselves: I don't particularly enjoy stepping in dog urine in the foyer or walking by pizza boxes, wine bottles, and other trash left in the foyer. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
