I lived here for 13 months right above the Hair Cuttery and it was OK. Here are the pro's and cons:

PROS:
- Maintenance staff is super friendly and helpful. They always say Hi and are willing to help you out.
- It's a great location in Baldwin Park with eating, services, and Publix all within a 2 second walk!
- The apartments are very sound proof. I never had any problems with noise.
- The quality of the apartment furnishings is pretty good.
- My utilities were always very low, probably because the unit only had two windows.
- Great video security buzzer/entry system (very helpful)

CONS:
- For the price I was paying ($1500/mo) for a 1100 sq ft loft, I feel like it was a bit high
- The staff at the leasing office is never around. I can't tell you how many times I had to go and **find** someone when I had an issue (like the elevator not working for like 2 months)
- The place is a ghost town. I really think like 6 units were leased in the whole building!
- There is no garbage chute or valet garbage service, so you have to haul your garbage to the dumpster behind five guys. And they charge you a monthly garbage fee' Very annoying.
- The virtually wall to wall carpet is such a high pile it's annoying. You could lose your first born in it if you're not careful...
- The balcony is ridiculously small and uncovered. It's hot and rainy in Florida - which makes this space virtually unusable.

All that said, one more grievance. When I went to renew, they quoted me $1600/mo. I said no way and gave my 30 day notice. Amazingly, the price dropped right then and there to $1100/mo. Hmmm.. I guess business is business, but that was enough to make me move out.

Overall, it's not a bad place, but never felt "right" to me for some reason. I moved back downtown where I feel much better.
