You are so right. I was sick and got layed off and told them I was coming back into town after I stayed at my parents for a few days while i was sick. rent WAS late but I had told Chris that I was coming around the 30th to clean, leave dec rent and the keys so he could rerent it and it would just be lease abandonment. Well on the 30 I get there with cleanign supplies and ALL my stuff is GONE. the police saw it empty. There was cash, private things, furniture. my birth certificate, family heirlooms...ALL GONE. no notice no phone call nothing.
SO the next day I went to the court house and filed a case after asking chris where my belongings where...this is EXACTLY what her said "Jessica I don't know, it's your apartment. maybe one of the guys you gave you keys to came and took it" JUST FOR THE RECORD...MY EX IS TEXAS HAS A KEY AND MY BEST FRIEND WHO IS WITH ME 24/7 HAD A KEY. I continued to ask him and he kept saying "I don't know what stuff you are referring to." He then proceded to say " Pay your rent and we can talk" something along that line. So after I filed the case, I called once mor eto ask him where my belongings where...this u goot to hear..
" Actually Jessica your things are back in your apartment. Neighbors were complaining about the smell saying something was dead. I went and took things out, put them in the laundry room, and had pest control go in."
Funny thing is, I went that night..which was in january to try to get me to pay january rent and my stuff was digusting, smelling like garbage, broken, and all the important things were missing. The amount of cash in there plus my deposit would have covered the dec rent... and it would have went smoothly. It was a total of 2500 that went missing. And out of everything he put back..was not even half of that. My lingerie and person things are still gone, cash, birth certificate, FUTON AND BOOKSHELF, and my clothes are ruined, dished broken, there was jewelry missing, and there were still bugs, EVERYWHERE.
I am a 20 yr old college student. single white female, who lost her job. Chris tried to take advantage of me. Felix from the office came to my house when he was drunk and tried to sleep with me, Heather used me to drive her daughter around and lent me 40 and expectd money back after wasting my gas running errands for her and her daughter. Heather used the office after hours for her and her daughter to use the computer, family functions, Felix is a dirty pervert, trying to sleep with tenants(mind you he is married). Chris finds easy targets among his tenants and tries to intimidate them and get whatever money he can from them. He allows the office staff to pay rent whenever they want. Maintance doesn't even knock. I got out of the shower once and they were in my kitchen. While I was gone one day some one came in and BROKE my a/c, used my bathroom and left a mess. They have no respect. DO NOT RENT HERE.
