As a freshman I was eager to get an apartment. I heard about The Village at Science drive from a friend. I toured multiple times, each time the staff members were always friendly and helpful. They addressed me by name. Some were friendlier and helpful than others (and still are not as friendly).
When I moved in, there were a few things in the apartment that could have been better, but the overall condition was good. All minor problems were taken care of within days. The carpet was old, but there were no large stains. The maintenance staff nice and very helpful.
I don t visually have a problem with parking, but I do have friends that hate it. I do wish that the parking spaces were larger; many times it is very difficult getting out of my car, especially if the car parked next to me if not centered in its space. The new parking stickers have helped dramatically because the old hanging parking decal would fall from my rear-view mirror. I heard some people were towed because of this.
The security is definitely a plus. I feel safer when I see the officer patrolling the property late at night. In Orlando, crime is high. The staff along with management does a good job at informing the residents to lock their doors.
In general, you get what you pay for at The Village at Science Drive. The amenities are good, the convenience is a plus as well (and the free shuttle service that take you to campus throughout the day). The programs are always great with free food. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone I know. I ve enjoyed living here and have had no major problems.
