Moving into The Waterways Apartments on OBT is the worst mistake I have ever made in my life. The managment has changed 3 times since I've moved in a year ago. And it's always been terrible. You can never get them to fix anything. When we filled out our original inspection form nothing we reported was ever fixed. We then reported all the same problems again, with no results.
The saftey in the entire complex is a JOKE. To start with there is an abandoned building that has been sitting there with large amounts of damage and numerous broken windows. The front gates NEVER work. The latest managment company has hired security but they ARE NEVER around. The was also a short period where police were checking IDs at the front gate but that's no longer the case. There have been several shootings that resulted in death. Numerous apartments that have been broken into. I have seen for myself 3 cars on my block that have been broken into, mine included, ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT!
There are not enough dumpsters to accomated every building, so there's always trash on the curbs and in the street.
The mailboxes are delapitated pieces of crap.
The laundry rooms is a total mess.
The gym is only open during office hours/ with no access from the outside.
The Waterways is just a downright UNSAFE place to live. The managment is the worst and obviously content to let it stay that way.

I was just in Orlando a week or two ago looking at apartments to move into. The Waterways seemed really nice, but after reading these reviews, i'm second guessing it. I already put down a deposit and gave them the money for a credit check. did you have any problems with roaches? i'm worried that i should find another apartment complex. i'm only 19 and its close to my school. it seems like a really nice place. but i am not sure if i want to move there if i wont be safe.
