When you drive in you see the trash
that overflows from the dumpster to the streets. The gate, at first
everything was fine except that people would come in through the exit
gate and would almost hit you head on while you are trying to leave. Then
someone rammed the entrance gate so we had no gate at all for a while.
Now that we have a new gate my remote doesn't work... drug dealers can
come in without a problem but I live here and pay rent but cannot
enter. We do have a call box but even though it has been a year since I have
moved in we still do not have our name on the box or a way for our
guests to enter. When you finally make your way through the gates you see
all types of things... during the day you see hoodlums running a muck
in the streets who will not move from the middle of the street when you
are driving, at night you can see drug deals to your left or your right
it doesnt seem like you can look anywhere without seeing someone
looking to buy or sell drugs. When you finally park your car after the
obstacle course of hoodlums and dealers you arrive to your hallway filled
with more people that will not move out of your way, cigarette butts and
trash. For a while I was having a problem with my lock-so after all of
my trouble actually getting to my apartment I cannot get in. Calling
the maintenance didn't even work because I did at least five times. When
my lock finally completely broke I went to the office. It was raining
and by this time I was completely aggrevated. I get off work at five so
by the time I was finished with struggling with the lock and ultimately
giving up the office was closed - but the office staff was still
inside. I stood out side the door for five minutes while everyone just
walked by and ignored my light taps that eventually turned into a knock.
Finally I was greeted by a lady, she stated that they were closed. Like
the locked door and the sign on the door didn't tip me off. I began to
tell her my problem and asked if she could call the maintenance man for
me since I get absolutely no reception on my cell phone. She again
stated that they were closed and that they had lost power so they couldn't
get a key out of the lock box. I explained that a key wasn't a
problem since I have one of those it just doesn't work. I also explained that
I need to get in as soon as possible so that I could get my insulin
since I am diabetic. She then asked what she was supposed to do about my
lock. I calmly explained that I needed someone to contact maintenance
for me. Next at least 3 other office ladies came out and acted like I
was being unreasonable and asked me to calm down like I was attacking
them. I calmly left and went straight to my mom's house which is luckily
only 10 minutes away so that I could take my insulin shot. If she
didn't live so close I could have been serioiusly ill. I called
maintenance and they thankfully resolved the problem that night.
Please
re-think living here... I cannot honestly think of one good thing to say, I
am glad that I have been fortunate enough to move after a year.

First of all what actions would you have taken had they NOT been in the office AFTER OFFICE HOURS?! I have personally seen those people in there working until 9pm at night but I wouldn't dream of knocking on their door AFTER THEY HAVE CLOSED and it is AFTER OFFICE HOURS. Would your bank open their door for you at 6:30 after they have closed just because they were still there wrapping up paperwork? I sincerely doubt it! How is not having your insulin shot their responsibility? As a diabetic should you not plan for emergencies and always have it on hand regardless? You seem to be placing a lot more responsibilty and expection on the Management and not on yourself. As a resident I also know for a fact Management is constently sending out reminders to us about hanging out, trash etc. and I have seen them stop and ask people to not sit on the stairs and to go inside. What have you done to help solve any issues? Let me guess? Absolutely nothing! Best wishes in your next apartment!

I went to the apartments to see them before finding out about renting and, although anyone can get in (i mean, come on, gated communities pose no more safety than any other place because anyone can slip through the gate), but let's be real: I saw maybe two people outside and they were talking (looks like they were visitors leaving)... The whole 'DRUG DEAL' thing is exagerrated. even in places where drug deals do take place, it's not as horrible as you made this place out to be. it was well-kept, clean, and extremely quiet for a saturday night at 11pm!
