We wanted to sit down and try our best to give a honest and fair review of West Winds Apartments, since the other reviews don't give much substance.

Why we chose West Winds, in no particular order:
Location - Awesome. It is easy to exit and enter the community even if it is right off of busy Kirkman Road. We have everything so close by.

Office Staff - Caring. When we were looking for an apartment to chose, we really liked how we were treated. Rosa spent more time with us than any other community we visited. She never seemed rushed or bothered by our presence. She seemed sincere about wanting us to move in and become part of the "West Winds Family and Community" which is how she put it.

Price - Reasonable. The price does not include any utilies though. We are even charged for Pest Control - even if it is only a dollar a month. It still bothered us a bit that nothing was included.

Why we continue to live at West Winds:
Maintenance - Very Responsive. Although we have had a little more requests for repairs than we would have liked - mostly due to the age of the community and what seems to be bad piping. Maintenance has always responded quickly.

Office/Maintenance Staff - Caring. The entire staff continues to impress us with their caring attitude toward the community. We guess it helps that they all live here and we get to see them as residents as well. We can not commend them enough when the Hurricans hit though. They were out and about the very next day cleaning up huge amounts of debris. They don't seem to treat this place like just their job.

Added Dog Park - Unique. At first we did not care for the Dog Park, being non-dog owners. But seeing the residents in there enjoying their time with their dogs and getting to know one another, almost wants us to get a dog. *LOL* We have also seen a decrease in dog waste around the rest of the community.

I have lived here for 2 months and I am very sad to say that I still have ten months in this hell. My boyfriend picked this place because it is close to our work and our friends used to live here. The day he signed the lease he was told that pest control would come by and do his thing before our move in date. Well that never happened. We were moving from Alabama and we arrived early morning to our new aparment only to find out that the carpet had not been cleaned and the aparment was infested with german cockroaches. I obviously freaked out. I went straight to the office to find out what the heck was going on. I was told that there was nothing they could do and the pest control could only come by on friday, which then would mean a whole week. We had to live w/walmart over the counter bug killer for a whole week. Needless to say I am not very impressed w/ the office people, nor am I really impressed w/ pest control. I cant wait until my lease is over and we can move out of here. I WOULD NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. It is simply awful. The location is great, but there are plenty of apartments around this location and they are all about the same price range. I would look around ALOT before settling down .
