Ok here's my take.
Positive: I like the view from the pool, with the little walkways. Love where it's located! Westwinds is near I-Drive, Universal, Mellinia Mall, Florida and West Oaks Malls, Outlets, Walmart, good school district (but the apt is too small for a regular sized family). I've seen a newly rennovated unit and the wood floors are a nice touch, i love apts w/ a playground (newly built).
Negative: not much room, less than 900q.ft, too pricey for the size, litter, litter, litter, NO utilities paid (the majority of Orlando apts offer free water and sewer, many offer discounted cable tv. this would save at least $40-80/month). I actually liked the previous (grey/green) paint job the buildings are dark orange/brown/yellowish, ugly and looks like every other apt complex. I agree the staff is blah. One staff member sounds like a female Ben Stein on the phone. Emotionless and blah. (ps-I have NOTHING against her.), the AIMCO repair requests online could work MUCH better it seems they never "get the request" and things go unfixed for a while. Yes rennovations are happening but take care of the residents who are actually PAYING you MONEY each month! Rats were in my storage closet and I keep my stuff VERY VERY clean. laundry room is a roll of the dice, cars do get broken into, I could go on...
You can do better. Sure, the location IS great but are you willing to compromise all of the negative just to be by things you probably won't visit everyday' I wouldn't and that's why I'm moving to a bigger space.

I agree with this review you can do better, these apartments are old and they will not do anything to them until you move out. The security is terrible and the gate is always broken. It takes them almost 3 weeks to fix the gate and once it is fixed, it stays that way for only 4 days and then it is broken again. You pay for pest control every month but you never see a pest control person. The apartments are roach infested and no matter how clean you keep it you still have roaches. I figure if I am going to pay for a service I should have it and not have to ask for it. Which is what they want you to do. These apartments are to expensive for what you get. I have seen better for the amount of money that we pay one's that even have an alarm system in every apartment. I agree you can do better
