Windsor at Kirkman Apartments on Metrowest Boulevard
AVERAGE RATING
< Prev Review | >
I moved from South Florida over a year ago and by far it's been extremely difficult to find a good apartment in a beautiful community to live in. I accidentally drove through Metrowest and was very impressed with the up keep of the general area. It was also very difficult not to notice the exotic Palms Club which favored my taste in lifestyle living. So here I am 6 months later enjoying what I would consider one of the most impressive landscaping and property up keep I've ever experienced. However I'm a bit confused with the type of residences here. I had much higher expectations from the residences. For example, my neighbor constantly leaves open and overly excessive garbage by the door which is the worst eye sore EVER! More details: the open garbage means the garbage that's left out there is not in a garbage bag (egg cartons, juice boxes, diapers, soda cans, etc. x 50; no exaggeration!). This same neighbor also dries clothe, bathroom mats, etc. in the hallway. By far, this is the most shocking and disgusting thing I've ever seen in a complex. Okay I know people sometimes are not quite on the same page as some of us but I've made five (5), YES 5 complaints to the office and nothing has been done. Why on God's green earth should that be is beyond my comprehension'! Oh I made my complaints to 3 different people in the leasing office at different times and 2 of the maintenance men. Believe you me I m the last person on earth to make a complaint or even to post on a blog. I've even had some serious noise problems which I've ignored but the excessive garbage in the hallway is way too much for me. Now that is the specific reason why I have to leave here at the end of my lease.
I completely understand why people really like it here. To each his own right' Some will love it death and that's okay. I was trying to avoid saying it but there really isn't a tactful way for me to put it other than this is the most beautiful ghetto I've ever seen. WHERE ON EARTH DO THESE PEOPLE COME FROM'! I've met some wonderful residences but the few harsh individual certainly have made their statement of not making here very livable. For those who can manage the excessive teenagers roaming the pool area and the hallways, hats off to you. Not to mention slamming doors that virtually vibrate my art work off the walls and they create a shouting match at the top of their lungs. Seriously, it's ok that some of these things happen now and then and I know it's just apart of living but why so so so excessive'
I cannot say enough about its impressive beauty and I really would have loved to stay much longer and even consider purchasing one of these units. It's such a shame though. I've recently found out that one of the problems is how ridiculously close it is to really BAD neighborhoods which has negatively impacted the community. It s just so rare to find such visually appealing communities in the Orlando Metropolitan area.
If you are a person of discriminating taste, this community is DEFINATELY not for you. After much research, I've come to a decision to move back to Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale in a few months. Orlando is just not for me at all and unfortunately, it s not just Metrowest problem.

Hey, thanx for posting again!! For some reason, I did not get an alert or message when you posted this, so I am just now reading it. I just got a message today, though, after somebody just wrote ANOTHER negative review. I almost feel bad for the management staff, considering all of the negative posts on here... That is crazy about that neighbor hanging up laundry out in the hallway for everyone to see. Are they from another country? Maybe it's a cultural thing? Who knows!! Still, that's just messed up!! LOL I haven't had any other major problems with management or the staff over the last several months, so I guess things are looking up, but I am still having issues with the guitar player. And his two obnoxious dogs!! Oh yeah, and it seems as though they just bought a surround sound system with mega bass, so I can tell when they are watching a movie, too. So now, not only do we have the extremely loud amplifier going on everytime he plays his guitar as well as a little "movie theater" going on a couple nights a week, both of which seriously vibrate my apartment floor, but now, I get to put up with 2 loud, obnoxious dogs!! I swear I can tell whenever they (he and his wife/girlfriend) are not home in the evenings. The dogs bark and moan and howl continuously all night. OMG, it's SOOOO annoying. And another thing... I never have seen either one of them actually "walk" their dogs. They let them out, separately, for like 5 minutes and then come right back in, whether the dogs do something or not. No wonder they have a barking fit everytime someone else walks by with a dog. I don't know, maybe I'm too biased here, since I have never owned a dog. I only have cats, who are extremely quiet and don't bark, thank God!! Actually, you're right... I should definitely speak to management about all this. I have put up with it for far too long!!!! Thanx!

I get the normal noise from thin-wall apartment. I can hear the neighbor above me walking around and of course the TV, some music, and dropping of the pots on the ground. I'm okay with that but not the kinda crazy dog barking, bass vibrating, and band practice noise like you have......I think the girls in the office try their best to help but talking directly to the manager does make a difference.
My crazy neighbor is starting to do the open garbage again. They have open garbage out there for the last four days hoping for it to be picked up. Although I'd like to see it moved asap, I'm glad the guys who pick up the garbage isn't picking it up. Before they would pick up the garbage and it would encourage them to keep doing it. They're from another country but that's no excuse. I'm from another country and I grew up hanging clothe outside on the line(We hated that by the way..lol). That was the culture simple because owning a dryer was a supreme luxury ..lol... trust me they know the rules and they know better. They just don't care!!
Anyway good luck with getting your issue resolved. I???m giving up for now and I???ll continue to sweet up all the cigarette butts in my hallway and on the stairs so I???m not too embarrassed when my visitors come by ..lol

Like I said in my post; welcome to the ghetto!! It's a sad statement to say, but management doesn???t have the man/woman power to control all of the obnoxious people who live in these units. A person being for another country and/or culture doesn't have anything to do with ignorance and mutual respect for your neighbors. Leaving garbage all over and playing loud music all hours of the night is just a lack of respect for others! Where was the upbringing of these individuals?? and OMG pray they're not raising children to pick up the same habits. For those who have kids running around all night drinking alcohol and smoking dope??????..ummmm where are those parents?? Ok, lets give the benefit of the doubt and say work??? Isn???t someone else responsible for them? Do you know your children are vandalizing the pool areas, fighting at the tennis courts, pulling fire alarms? I just have to add about the laundry hanging all over the halls??????..I have no doubt, that if I was in that unit where I had to duck to get under hanging clothes that I would make the clothes ???disappear???!! They would be ???drying??? in the dumpster :)

You people lived in an apartment and you don??t like it, so buy a home, become a hermit, or deal with living by other people. The fact is, if you want to live somewhere where you??re completely happy, you will need to fork over the cash, or find some where secluded where not a lot of people lives. Bottom line complaining about other people is no way to live. Find a solution in your life. I don't live at this community, or in that state. But I can tell you, if you guys think your living in the most beautiful ghetto, you're lost. Ghettos aren't beautiful to any extent. No. 1 it can't be a ghetto if it's beautiful. Ghettos are dangerous and only people with no choice or no income has to or will live there. It sounds like where this community is located is on the border line of the ghetto. If that is the case then how come police isn't involved? I'll tell you why, because you??re nowhere near a ghetto. You probably don't like your neighbor, or have a deeper hate than others. With this current economy why would your buy a condo when you can get a house for the same price. Anyway long story short, get your situation together before you blame other people because where you are now could be a whole lot worse. You could have gang activity where you live that will keep you in your house, or burglary in your community where cars and homes are safe. There's always somewhere worse than where you are, and if you think you??re somewhere worse there??s always somewhere better. So stop the accusations and find out where you need to be. The Ghetto, just so you know if you don't have anybody dying in your neighborhood everyday or week, I think where you??re living is close to paradise. I have been all over this country in bad and good neighborhoods. I never let the people or area interfere with my life there??s already enough problems life will present you with. Having problems with the management company or the leasing office is a different problem all together, but if you are in a community where you report stuff to the management office and they don??t do anything, but you don??t have any other problem with the management company or leasing office, they probably think your crazy and laugh at you when you leave, that??s not right either but hey we don??t live in a perfect world. Try to have a good Life!
